Maxi dresses are a summer staple for a lot of us and it’s not hard to see why. Maxi dresses are super light and easy to wear and they’re really chic too! You don’t really have to do much to style a maxi dress since it is already gorgeous on its own but when you wear your maxi dress with the right shoes, your whole look just comes together beautifully, giving you a completely chic look. What shoes you wear with a maxi dress will depend on a lot of things like the look that you’re going for, the weather and where you will be wearing your outfit to. Here are some tips on what shoes to wear with a maxi dress.
- Pumps – pumps are one of the most popular choices when it comes to shoes to wear with a maxi dress. The combination of a maxi dress and a cute pair of pumps is a surefire way to look chic and stylish. You can wear shoes with your maxi dress if you want to look taller or when you just want something easy yet striking. Glam your outfit up by wearing a pair of embellished heels or keep it plain, simple and fab by opting for a pair of neutral colored pumps. You may want to wear this only if you’re going somewhere you can sit down, though, since comfort can be an issue when wearing heels all day long.
- Flats or flip flops – if you aren’t very comfortable with walking in heels at all or if you simply want a more dressed-down kind of look, you can wear your maxi dress with flats or a pair of flip flops instead. Wearing flats with a maxi dress is perfect if you’re going for a casual and laidback look while wearing flip flops gives it that effortless street style chic vibe. Flip flops are great if you need something that wouldn’t make your feet sweat (yucky, I know) despite the intense summer heat.
- Thong sandals – thong sandals are perfect to wear with a maxi dress if you’re going for a Boho chic kind of look or if you simply want a subtle Boho vibe to go with your casual or street style look. Choose the strappy kind of thong sandals to add that oomph to your outfit but if your maxi dress is already gorgeous all on its own, just opt for a pair of simple thong sandals instead. You wouldn’t want too much going on in your outfit.
- Wedges – for all the petite ladies out there, I just want to say: I feel your pain and I know how difficult it is to choose between being comfortable but staying short and looking tall but being uncomfortable. This summer, though, you don’t have to suffer the pain of wearing heels just to look taller because summer is the perfect time to wear your wedges with your maxi dresses and wedges are far more comfortable and easier to walk in compared to heels or pumps.
