Now that the Holiday season has officially kicked off, it’s time to start planning out your holiday outfits. Not that you have to buy tons of new ones, of course, but wouldn’t it be nice to tweak your everyday looks a little and give it a little more festive cheer? If you’re looking for ways to glam up your wardrobe for the holidays without busting your budget (because we know all that gift-shopping can put a dent on there), check out these tips and ideas below.
- ADD A DASH OF COLOR – the easiest way to give your fall and winter wardrobe some holiday cheer is to simply add a dash of color to your looks. We all know fall and winter fashion tends to get a little heavy on the dark hues so lighten it up and brighten it up by adding a dash of color. Red and green always gets people in the festive mood but you don’t have to wear them together and look like a walking Christmas present. You can add other bright and cheery colors to the mix, too!
- GIVE YOUR OUTFIT SOME SPARKLE AND SHINE – another really easy way to give your wardrobe some good ol’ holiday cheer is to add some sparkle and shine to your outfits. Here are some tips on how to wear sequins during the day if you’re someone who loves sequins. You can also wear something glittery or metallic, depending on the kind of sparkle or shine you’re going for. You can also wear chic and sparkly jewelry if you’re not into wearing sparkly clothes.
- DON A BOW – bows are great. They’re cute, they’re pretty, they’re girly and dainty and they also remind us of presents as in Christmas presents. Now, I’m not saying you should go ahead and make yourself look like a Christmas present by going crazy with ribbons and bows but rather to just add some bow-y details to your outfits for a subtle holiday vibe. It could be a hair bow, a bow-printed top, bow embellishments – it could be anything, really.
- BE A LITTLE MORE POSH – it’s the holidays, nobody minds if you get a little more dressy and posh, even if it’s for your everyday looks. I don’t know about you but whenever the holidays are approaching, I always tend to dress up a little bit nicer and it gets up my holidays spirits! You don’t have to wear LBDs every day. If you’re usually a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl, you can try wearing more dresses instead or sporting new shapes and silhouettes or structures that you usually wouldn’t wear all the time.
