Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain #15 Rose Vinyl: Review, Pictures, Wear Test – Glam Radar
by Jane · March 17, 2015
YSL Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain #15 Rose Vinyl is the one of the newer lip products in the market that has revolutionized how lip glosses, lip sticks, and lip stains preform. These are meant to encompass all three features into one product by slowly layering the product onto the lips to three degrees of opacity. The finish and opacity of these also change throughout wear. Price: $32 for .20oz, sephora.com, nordstrom.com, Color: cool medium rose that deepens significantly when worn Pigmentation: 1 layer for a stain, 2 for glossy color, 3 for maximum vibrancy Texture: Applies watery and feels slightly sticky at first but quickly sets and
becomes very smooth on the lips
Longevity: 6-7 hours; glossiness sets after an hour into a satin finish; fading
primarily in the center of the lips after eating; slighty stains lips Pros: ease of application atypical of liquid lipsticks; versatility; longevity; not drying
throughout wear; non-tacky feeling; doesn’t emphasize lip lines, dryness, or need
preparation for wear; does not feather
Cons: highly fragrant; expensive; lack of natural, everyday shades; colors in tube
appear significantly darker when worn; transfers more than expected
Recommended? If you want a natural feeling, low maintenance liquid lipstick then
you’ll love these. But if you’re not used to liquid lipsticks then you might think this is
drying and clings to the lips. Overall: A-, I absolutely love this for a pop of color with easy maintenance but not for everyday because it dries out my lips with repetitive wear. If not for the price and lack of wearable shades, I’d purchase more of these in a heart beat. If the long awaited L’Oreal Shine Caresses turn out to be anywhere close to these then I’ll
be buying them all!
