So it’s no big secret that I have awful skin. I have explained in many of my blog posts that my skin is oily, acne scarred, prone to bad breakouts and I have hyperpigmentation. Lucky me, eh? To be honest I had given up trying to ‘fix’ my skin and instead decided to concentrate on covering it up really well. I first got problem skin at school, just the usual teenage acne I suppose. But then during pregnancy my skin got worse and I developed really painful acne which was disgusting to look at and my confidence plummeted. I am still left with the scars (on my cheeks especially) and despite always washing off my makeup at night, not touching my face, using moisturisers, cleansers, etc I STILL get breakouts! I have tried prescription medication and none have worked out for me. As I said I had given up a long time ago looking for a cure and I now just look for a full coverage foundation routine instead.
Well, recently I was contacted by a compamy called Skinetica to ask if I would like to try out their product. Skinetica makes BIG promises. I didn’t have high hopes when I agreed to be sent a bottle to sample. It all sounded too good to be true. But I was up for trying it out, I had nothing to loose.
Skinetica claims to clear skin in super quick time without causing irritation and redness. It contains no harsh chemicals, it is non – allergenic, dermatologically tested, non greasy, and it doesn’t dry out your skin. The directions for use are simply to apply it to a cotton pad onto clean dry skin every 12 hours. You can concentrate it just on the areas where you have a breakout, or if you are like me you can apply it all over!
I have used this now every day for 1 week and I applied it all over my face with a cotton wool pad. I decided to take a before and after picture to show the difference, but do you know what, I can’t post it. I just can’t bring myself to put a picture of my bare face on the internet. I’m really sorry folks, but I will explain how it worked for me!
The first night I tried it my skin was red, lumpy and sore. Especially on my left cheek and around my jaw area. I also had a shiny red sppot next to my nose. The next day I woke up and checked myself out in the mirror and the redness was definitely reduced and my face felt smoother. Fast forward seven days and after a week of using is morning and night I can say that this product definitely has spot banishing powers. I only have 3 red spots on my cheeks and the one next to my nose has totally disappeared. This might not sound like much but believe me, it is a massive improvement, and in only 7 days I think its fantastic.
I really wish I had the balls to post my pictures but I just can’t do it. And it’s not because the product hasn’t worked – it really really has helped, but my scarring and hyperpigmentation is still there and I’m really not confortable with being so exposed.
If you are like me and have oily acne prone skin I really recommend that you try this out. You can have a look on the Skinetica website and request your free sample here
. I still have some of the bottle left and I will continue to use it on my spots as they appear. The way my skin has improved I don’t think I need to use it all over my face anymore, which is great!
This product was sent to me from Skinetica. I did not buy this myself, but please remember I am an honest blogger and this review is my own! 🙂
