Skin Care Haul

Skin Care Haul

There’s nothing like new skin care goodies to cheer you up after a stressful week at work! I’ve been keen to try AESOP for a while now after visiting the store in my work building and recieving such great service whilst I was shopping with a friend. Even though I wasn’t the person buying the product they did a quick skin type analysis and sent me away with a handful of samples and a booklet on their products. I put the call out to my Twitter follows to see what products you all loved and armed myself with a few recommendations.

So what did I get?Fabulous Face Cleanser

Fabulous Face Cleanser – 100mL – $31.00AUD
Low-foaming gel cleanser for sensitive, combination or dry skin with bergamot rind, chamomile bud and rosemary leaf.

Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque – 60mL – $37.00AUD
Clay-based masque rich in botanical Clay-based masque rich in botanical anti-oxidants for most skin types

So far both products are working great for me, I’ll use them for a while longer before reviewing them (I usually use products for a minimum of 2-3 weeks before review, sometimes longer for treatment creams such as the ASAP serum I reviewed last week.)

I also paid a visit to The Face Shop at Melbourne Central to pick up a few of their sheet masks and again got fabulous service! I ended up with:Herbal Therapy Rose & Pine moisturising mask sheet

  • Vita C Mask Sheet – skin tone brightening Raspberry & Strawberry extract
  • Herbal Therapy Rose & Pine moisturising mask sheet
  • Pearl Essential mask sheet for clearer skin
  • Fresh Fruit Lemon Sheet mask

I also picked up one of their ‘peeling’ scrubs in “Water in Pomegranate”peeling day Water in Pomegranate

This is a gel-type scrub for weekly use, it’s unlike any other scrub that I’ve used in that it doesn’t feel overly gritty but it balls up on the face and you can actually see the dead skin caught up in it – eew but effective! As with the Aesop goodies I plan to review these items as part of my Skin Lovin’ Saturdays posts in the coming weeks.

I also got a sample of the Keratin hair conditioner…Keratin hair conditioner

Both brands also threw in quite a few samples which surprised me (many other skin care brands here are unreasonably stingy with samples.) So I will definitely be testing out more products in both brands!

What’s coming up in the next few weeks with Skin Lovin’ Saturdays? Aside from the reviews of the above products I am also going to review the following:

  • Olay Complete Defense SPF30+ day moisturiser
  • Alpha-H Gentle Daily Exfoliant
  • Olay Regenerist Miscro-Sculpting serum and moisturiser
  • Clarins Face Treatment Oil
  • GAIA Skincare Foaming Cleanser with Pink Grapefruit and Jasmine
