Myer Autumn/Winter Makeup Look

Myer Autumn/Winter Makeup Look

Last night I had the immense pleasure of attending the Myer Autumn/Winter Fashion parade and launch. I was guest of Illamasqua (one of my most-loved makeup brands) who were responsible for the fabulous makeup looks of the show! Illamasqua is a brand often known for it’s incredible artistic flair and unique style, and while the makeup used in this show was very subdued in comparison to what I know of the brand; it was undeniably gorgeous.

A bold, dark red lip was paired with razor-sharp cheekbones for a strong, yet totally wearable look. After watching the show, falling in with both the makeup and the glamorous outfits, I couldn’t wait to find out what products were used on the models! Luckily I had the chance to chat with the creative mind behind the looks; Nicola Burford(stay tuned for an interview with Nicola soon!) and the every lovely Christabel to see how I could re-create the look at home. Here’s what the experts used:

– Prepare the skin with a mixture of Illamasqua Satin Primer and Gleam Cream (WANT!)
– Apply Cream foundation with a foundation brush
– Apply Concealer where needed
– Loose Powder in LP 010

– Contour with Disobey Powder blusher
– Go over this with Glint and Burnish Bronzer duo to bring life to the skin
– Lightly use peachy Lover powder blush on the apple of the cheek
– Highlight cheekbones and cupid’s bow with sparkling peach Furore pigment

– Brush up eyebrows and use Eyebrow Cake in the appropriate shade to softly define brows
– Use a soft wash of Bronx eyeshadow to the entire lid
– Contour with olive-green Moan powder eyeshadow
– Use gold Marvel pigment on the centre of the lid
– Use black liquid liner in Shatter to line the top lid, finishing with an elegant 50′s flick
– Run above this line with shimmering gold Alchemy Precision Ink Liquid Liner
– Harness mascara in black top and bottom lashes
– Apply No 25 false lashes to further accentuate the eye

– Create the perfect wine lip by mixing Diablo, Growl and Box and applying generously for a full movie star lip

All in all it was a magical night (although I now have a height complex after standing around all those models!) and I’ll definitely be giving this look a try at home.
