A couple of weeks back I was sent this lovely cleansing starter kit by Liz Earle to review, and as you can see the products are packaged beautifully. Here is my review of LIZ EARLE CLEANSE & POLISH !
Along with the product itself I received various literature on the company; it’s history and ethos, and further info on the full range. Liz Earle are BUAV approved and this starter kit costs a mere £13.25, for the cleanser alone you’ll pay £11.75
Below is the cleanser itself (100ml), which comes with 2 muslin cloths
And this is the cute little travel bag they came in
So I read the instructions and decided to use it that evening for the first time to remove my make-up. Now I have to admit I can be terribly lazy in the evenings when it comes to taking my make-up off because I’d much rather be in bed lol. But after using this it’s completely changed my evening routine and I have only gone to bed with a face full of make-up twice since receiving it!
I only use it in the evening as I have another cleanser for the mornings, and also whilst it’s fantastic for giving your skin a deep cleanse by removing the daily build up I feel it would be a waste to use it in the morning when all that needs to be removed is the remains of last night’s moisturiser and serum
So how does it work? Well first of all it’s a ‘2 phase process’ according to Liz Earle; Phase 1 being the cleanse, and phase 2 being the polish. I began by warming 2 pumps of the cleanser in my hands and before I could even put it on my face the smell of Eucalyptus hit me; it’s not an overpowering smell but it’s enough for you to think ‘wow, this smells amazing!’ I thoroughly enjoyed massaging this cleanser into my face and neck with deep circular motions, as instructed to ‘purify, soften and stimulate circulation’, because it just released the scent of Eucalyptus even more
Once I had worked the cleanser over my entire face and softened all of my make-up I took one of the muslin cloths and immersed it in hot water before placing it over my face (damp obviously!) to warm my skin before proceeding to use it to remove all the traces of make-up and daily build of grime on my skin. What I love about this part is the fact that not only am I getting rid of the day’s make-up but I’m also giving my skin a gentle exfoliation as well, and you can really feel the results afterwards because my skin always feels so soft and smooth once I’m done!
To finish Liz Earle say to splash cool water on your face, which will have a sort of toning effect on the pores, and I think this is a really nice way to end the treatment (yes I’ve called it that because it really is like giving yourself a treatment), because your skin feels so clean and refreshed afterwards. The Eucalyptus is what allows for deep cleansing as its fab for clearing congestion; Chamomile is also known to be an excellent skin cleanser as it soothes and rejuvenates all skin types; Rosemary produces a toning effect
I have to admit this has made my evening routine thoroughly enjoyable and something I actually look forward to when I return home after work. I felt the difference in the texture of my skin after my first go of it, and the results are only getting better as my skin is suffering from less breakouts, and whilst I don’t put this all down to my cleanser, it certainly has helped! I really don’t have a bad thing to say about this product and I strongly recommend it to all of you, trust me you will love it! Have any of you tried it? What do you think of it?
