Clinique is one of my favorite department skin care/cosmetic lines. Their range of products is pretty vast and I always spot things I would love to try out. One product I got a while back from Sephora was their Turnaround Instant Facial Mask. If you know me at all, you know I love masks. I love unwinding on the weekend by treating myself and masks are always part of the equation!
This mask claims to deliver “all the radiance and smoothness of microdermbrasion – with significantly less irritation and stress to the skin” in a simple 5 minute application. It “promotes surface cell turnover on multiple levels to instantly unveil skin that’s fresher, more vibrant and even-toned.”
I love that it is a quick beauty ritual. You could use this mask for an instant boost before a night out if you wanted. The fact that it only needs 5 minutes on the skin and it causes barely any irritation or redness makes it perfect for when you are in a time crunch!
When applied to the skin, it comes out of the tube as grainy and a little rough. After gently smoothing it over the skin and letting it sit for 5 minutes, you are to wet your face with warm water and massage the particles over your skin to get the full microdermabrasion effect before rinsing it off. I find that it isn’t too rough. I don’t have that sensitive skin though, so I am not sure if it would be the best product for some one who finds it hard to exfoliate their face. I have been using St. Ives scrub pretty regularly so it didn’t seem bad at all to me.
|Once applied, it blends into the skin pretty
well, but you get a beady texture.
The scent is fresh and clean and it never once has caused irritation on me. Afterwards my face feels very clean but never stripped or dry. Overall I don’t notice huge improvements in my skin right after but I do feel like it is a great scrub when I want a dose of “luxury.” I think it has worked well as an addition to my skin care routine as I like to use it once a week. My skin has been the best it has ever been in my whole young adult life, so maybe this product is a a big component of that, but it is hard to tell. I think I just struck a good combination of products finally!
