Hi pretty ladies here is my Burt’s Bees Natural Super Glossy Lip Shine – Nectar Nude Review!
You know what’s a good name for a lip gloss? Nectar Nude. It sounds kinda sexy-like. And a bit dirty.
Burt’s Bees make a lot of products I love – their Honeysuckle Lip Balm for one – but today I’m going to show you this super gorgeous and oh-so-reasonably-priced Super Gloss called Nectar Nude.
Burt’s Bees Lip Shines are quite a light gloss – I don’t find them sticky at all. That’s probably because it’s an oil-based gloss (almond oil for anyone playing at home). It’s quite a sheer gloss, but I find the colour payoff is reasonable, considering the price point. It’s also quite moisturising – no need for a lip balm underneath unless you have really dry lips.
It has a squeezy tube, which I love – it’s great for getting the most out of the tube when you’re towards the end.
It also has a light scent which I’m told is citrusy. To be honest, I’m really sensitive to citrus smells and nobody believes me, but if someone is eating an orange or mandarin around me, I have to leave the room because it gives me a huge headache. That said, I don’t mind the smell of this gloss at all, and I didn’t realise it was a citrus scent until I looked it up. Weird, huh?
The kicker for me for this though is the colour. Nectar Nude has a light amount of sparkle so it caters for sparkle-addicts like me, but even though it starts as quite a dark nude, it sheers out.
I’m a bright pink lip girl if there ever was one (well… ok… Lilit @ Makeup and Macaroons and I can be twins!) but I’m partial to a nude gloss when the time calls for it as well.
Burt’s Bees Nectar Nude is a great your-lips-but-better gloss. Paired with a smokey eye and perfectly contoured skin, you’ve got a look that even the Kardashians would envy.
This little darling was packed in the stash of makeup that made it with me on the plane to London (as opposed to the box that is coming 2-3 months later!) – that’s how much I love it.
Burt’s Bees Super Glossy Lip Shines also come in other colours that I’m keen to try – Juicy Pink, Sheer Lemon, Sweet Pink, Zesty Red and Pucker Berry which to me sounds like PuckleBerry. (Any Glee fans? Just me? Oh well.)
Full Disclosure: I bought this myself. Saw it, and just had to have it!
