Real Techniques Powder Brush 1401

Hello beauties! here is my review of the Real Techniques brushes!

Not long after I started blogging, suddenly everyone was raving about these new brushes designed by Youtuber and beauty blogger, Samantha Chapman. Sam is one half of the Pixiwoo duo who share makeup tutorials on their Youtube beauty channel and is also a professional makeup artist.

I heard such great things about these brushes, particularly their stippling brush, but put off trying them out. I’ve never really been one to use makeup brushes, but in the last year or so, I’ve started using more powder makeup and brushes became more of a necessity. Still, my collection was limited to an Ecotools blush brush, a few eyeshadow brushes and an old Estee Lauder powder brush which had started shedding so I popped onto Boots.com on Sunday and ordered the Real Techniques Powder Brush, Blush Brush and Stippling Brush. Luckily, Boots currently have a 3 for 2 offer on skincare, cosmetics and more meaning I got the blush brush for free! The stippling brush costs £11.99 and the powder brush, £12.99 so even saving the £9.99 for the blush brush, it did come to around £25. While it does seem a lot for some, you can pay £30 or £40 for just one brush for other brands and seeing as I’ll be using them nearly every day, I’m hoping they’re worth it! The dual-fibre brushes are made from synthetic Taklon bristles and are not only ridiculously soft, yet firm, but 100% cruelty free. I also love the shape of the handle – it makes them easy to grip and they’re self-standing. I haven’t had the chance to use them yet and find out whether they really are as good as some say they are, but I’ll be sure to do a review on at least one of them after I do. The only downside to Real Techniques I can really say right now is that while some brushes are sold individually, like the ones I bought, some are only sold in sets. I particularly want their contouring brush from the Core Collection set, but if I don’t use the other three brushes, I’m not so sure it’s worth the £21.99. Have any of you tried out the Real Techniques brushes? What did you think? For more info, check out their website, http://realtechniques.com, or head on over to boots.com to buy them!
