My post-Jubilee blues were temporarily relieved by the Trooping the Colour on Saturday. This is an annual event that I greatly look forward to and this year was no disappointment. So it was fitting to wear Yardley’s Royal Diamond Eau de Toilette. Yardley, true to its British heritage, released its first floral bouquet, Royal Diamond, to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee.
“Yardley London’s Royal Diamond is a sophisticated, sparkling fragrance opening with a touch of pear and bergamot surrounded by a subtle note of honey, with a delicate romantic floral bouquet at its heart of rose, peony and lilly of the valley, enhanced with a soft woody and vanilla base”.
A beautiful grown-up and elegant fragrance, this is entirely perfect to celebrate sixty years of the reign of a wonderful woman. Its sophisticated scent of florals, including my favourite peony, balanced with a woody undertone, is perfection. I personally am not a fan of sweet and intoxicating fragrances so I look for something that slightly more subtle and Yardley’s timeless scent is just that.
My only gripe with Yardley’s Royal Diamond Eau de Toilette is the packaging. I do like the simplicity of the glass bottle, but the Yardley label is noticeably stuck on which detracts from the elegance of the design.
