What’s In My Makeup Bag

Hi everyone!
Well it is officially summer break, and I have nothing really planned until the end of june and all of july – I’ll be going to Washington DC and then I’m off to be a camp counselor at a summer camp! But until then, expect lots of posts! Like last summer, I want to make this blog my baby again. I’ve been doing this for almost a year (can you believe it?!?), and I’ve really grown to enjoy blogging. It forces me to work on a variety of skills including taking photos and writing! Well, I won’t get too sappy now . . . I’ll save that for my blogging anniversary. ūüėÄ
When I moved back home at the end of the semester, I reorganized my makeup collection and put the products I use most in a makeup bag. I don’t know why I didn’t do this before, but I think it’s genius! It can be a pain in the butt to go through all the drawers each morning just to put a natural look together, so this way I can throw some things on my face really quickly, or even grab the bag and put my makeup on in the car if needed!
1 What's In My Makeup Bag
The bag itself is from Victoria’s Secret Pink from several years ago. I think it came in a gift set with a bunch of bath/body products, but don’t quote me on that!
¬†let’s take a peek inside . . .

Physician’s Formula Happy Boosting Bronzer in Bronzer¬†is the first product that I pulled out of my bag. It’s a great bronzer for the winter/spring months when I haven’t seen too much sun because it’s a great light color. When I’m really (safely) tanned this doesn’t show up on my skin as well as I would like, but I have other bronzers for that ūüėÄ ¬†The next thing I pulled out was my trusty¬†Maybelline Great Lash Mascara¬†and my¬†Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in the shade 120. Again, I may have to switch to my MAC Studio Finish Concealer later in the summer, but for right now, this is a perfect color!

Next we have my¬†Bare Minerals Prime Time Primer. I have a whole other bottle of this when I run out ¬†. . . but it’s taking forever! I thought I was going to run out back in January, but this little guy is still going strong! I really like using this primer in conjunction with my¬†Neutrogena Health Skin Liquid Foundation in Nude 40. This is one of my favorite foundations, because it’s really versatile. I can sheer it out to tinted-moisturizer-sheerness or I can build it up to medium coverage. In the back hiding is my¬†L’oreal Infalliable Eye Shadow in 890 Bronzed Taupe. I got these a while back, but didn’t really think much of them. They creased horribly on me! But I’ve found that with a bit more eye shadow primer than I’m used to applying, these look beautiful and last a good 6-7 hours on my lids!
5 make up bag essentials
Moving right along, I’ve been using my¬†Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in 30 Candy Coral¬†and my¬†BFTE Cosmetics Blush in Goddess¬†on my cheeks. I like both by themselves, but together is like BAM. cheeks. The goddess blush is like a pale peachy pink blush with lots of shimmer. I really like it because it’s one of those blushes that you don’t need to add an extra highlight shade with it because its so shimmery (note: that doesn’t stop me from adding an extra highlight every once in a while. What can I say? I like shimmer!). Then there’s my¬†Neutrogena Nourishing Eye Liner in 10 Cosmic Black*¬†which is a soft black with flecks of shimmer throughout. This is a really creamy liner that stays on all day. Think Urban Decay lasting power . . . it’s that great! I do prefer my Urban Decay pencils in terms of color, but I like how this liner stays on my lower lash line neater for longer than my Urban Decay Pencils.
Also in this picture you can see I have another¬†L’oreal Infallible Shadow in 888 Iced Latte. Again, I didn’t like these shadows, but I’ve recently fallen in love with them. Iced Latte and Bronzed Taupe make a great everyday eye shadow look! But like I said earlier, I do have to use a bit more¬†Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden¬†with them than I do with some of my other eye shadows. Am I wrong, but are these the shadows you’re not supposed to use a primer with? Well I need to, but I would say these are still so worth it because they’re so. pretty.
6 lip products inside my bag
The only lip products I’ve been using on a regular basis have been that little¬†no-name orange lip balm¬†and my¬†Stila Lip Glaze in Bubble Gum. First of all, I’m really proud of myself. Why? That little no-name orange lip balm is almost done. You heard me! I almost finished a lip balm WITHOUT LOSING IT. I think this may be a first for me *gives self a high five*. The Stila Lip Glaze is another product I wasn’t nuts about when I first got it because of the brush applicator. Since getting used to it, I’ve really been enjoying this! The color is a light blue-pink, which really helps brighten up my face and makes my teeth look whiter. While I’m not sure if the full-size Stila Lip Glazes are worth $20+ this is quite nice, and I will definitely use it up!
So that’s what I’ve been using! What have been your go-to products lately?
