I can’t leave the house without eyeliner. I like my eyeliner to be precise and water proof ( Don’t want it smudging all over my skin!) While there are a few gel eyeliners that can meet my needs I hate that they aren’t very travel friendly (have to wash the brush!) and often dry out.Here is my review of waterproof liquid eyeliner !
Waterproof liquid eyeliners are a bit of a mission to find. However I have found that both budget brands BYS and Essence makes them. You can purchase the BYS Smudgeproof waterproof eyeliner (4ml) from Gloss for approximately AU$5. Essence waterproof liquid eyeliner (6ml) is sold at both Priceline and Target for AU$4.95.

Essence Liquid Eyeliner (Waterproof)
- Takes longer to dry than BYS
- Darker and more opaque black
- Soft textured sponge applicator feels pleasant on the eyelid
- Creates a thicker line than BYS
- Not 100% smudgeproof
BYS Smudgeproof Waterproof Eyeliner
- Can create very thin line and precise look
- Rubber tip applicator not very soft on the eyelid
- Dries quickly
- Very streaky
- Not very waterproof/smudgeproof
Verdict: I much prefer the Essence liquid eyeliner as it is quite waterproof and smudgeproof (although not 100%), very true opaque black, softer on the lids. The only draw back is that the tip isn’t as thin as I would like it to be but that it just a personal preference. My ratings are as follows: BYS Smudgeproof Waterproof Eyeliner: 3/5 Essence Liquid Eyeliner (Waterproof): 4.5/5
