The Body Shop- Banana Shampoo Review

The Body Shop- Banana Shampoo Review

Hellllllo, I’m back with another product from my favourite shop EVER, The Body Shop. To be quite honest I wouldn’t have really thought of trying the hair care range from the shop because I think a lot of raving reviews tends to be focused around the body care range, which includes the famous body butters. However, I first saw this product mentioned on Tanya’s youtube and decided I HAD to get it as I love anything banana related!The-Body-Shop-Banana-Shampoo-Review

The bottle contains 250ml of product, which at first thought I thought was only a small amount and would run out in about a week. However, I have been using this a month and it’s not even got to being half full yet.
The reason why I thought it would go down so fast is because it’s not the best shampoo at lathering up. I find this to be the massive fault with this product because I think it’s important that a shampoo actually makes you feel like your hair is clean… because that’s the point of it isn’t it? That’s why I have to feel like I have to give my hair 3 or 4 washes with this before it feels like it’s actually had a good clean, but maybe that’s because my hair is quite long.The-Body-Shop-Banana-Shampoo
If the results of the shampoo was average, I admit I would have stopped using it because it’s quite a bit of a faf having to give 4 washes to your hair, but the results weren’t average at all. My hair is very picky, I have only used one shampoo for the last 5 or 6 years because every other I have tried makes my hair into a massive grease ball. However, this shampoo has not done this AT ALL so it’s a massive bonus and I will definatley be repurchasing for this fact alone!
It smells gorgeous and it contains ethically sourced banana puree which is also a massive bonus. However, I have noticed that when you are actually using it in the shower that it smells like coconuts and banana, a bit like a cocktail you would drink on holiday!
Finally, this shampoo has made my hair so soft it’s unreal. It’s very moisturising and I used it after I bleached my hair and it felt a lot healthier.
The price of this shampoo is £3.99 and a conditioner is also available for the same price (I would have got it but I love my current conditioner so much, I might give it a try though). I thought this was a lot considering that it’s quite a small bottle but as I said it has surprised me with how long it has lasted so it’s quite a decent price. However, as I am the stingiest person ever I did not pay full price for this as I had a 50% off code.
The shampoo is available in The Body Shop stores nationwide and also on their website here
