Wet’n’Wild Mega Last Lipsticks Review, Swatches – Glam Radar

by Jane · March 22, 2015

In the recent years, Wet’n’wild is hitting the world by storm. It brings new definition on the quality of makeup you can get with just a couple of dollars.

wetnwild-mega-last-lipsticks-review-swatches-500x281-1 Wet’n’Wild Mega Last lipsticks retail for $3 for .11oz at local drugstores. They are a semi-matte finish, highly pigmented, semi-drying lipstick with long wearing properties.

The colors I own are: 900B Pink Suga, 901B Think Pink, 902C Bare It All, 903C Just Peachy, Spotlight Red 911D. PIGMENTATION: 5/5
TEXTURE: 4/5
LONGEVITY: 4/5
OVERALL: 4.5/5 THE GOOD:

  • Extremely pigmented
  • Wide selection of colors
  • Lasts 3-6 hours
  • Super affordable

THE BAD:

  • Messy packaging
  • Need a lip balm, a little drying

Bottom Line: You’ll love this lipstick line if you’re fond of long wearing lipsticks, matte lipsticks, or bold, bright, fun pigmented lipsticks. If you like the outrageously bold matte colors of this line but not the dryness then simply blot the lipstick over a lip balm.

Pigmentation – ( 5 / 5 ) These are the most pigmented lipsticks in my collection.

Shades – ( 5 / 5 ) They come in 26 shades which is A LOT for a purely matte lipstick line (MAC only has 13 matte lipsticks!).

Texture – ( 4 / 5 ) These glide on smoothly, don’t have much give, and aren’t chalky. They can be a little drying so should be worn with a lip balm underneath. If you’re used to hydrating lipsticks as opposed to long wearing ones, avoid this line (you can blot it down though).

Longevity – ( 4 / 5 ) The lighter colors last 3-4 hours on me and the darker ones last up to 5-6 hours. They’re one of the longest wearing lipsticks in my collection.

Packaging – ( 3 / 5 ) It’s nice and sleek but because it doesn’t twist all the way down…many nicks will follow. The packaging can also break apart…as it did with one of my lipsticks.

Overall – ( 5 / 5 ) I love this bold, long wearing, matte finish lipstick line and is one of my favorite lipsticks in both high end and drugstore. I definitely recommend this line to those looking for the same things because you get so much quality for only $3. I also loveeee how no other drugstore lipsticks have the vibrancy and boldness of the colors in this line (where else will you find such bright fuschias and oranges??) and they keep on coming out with new, fun colors.

Repurchase? If you love long wearing or matte lipsticks then you’ll love these!

1) Pink Suga 900B (matte neutral light peach)– When sheered out over a lip balm, the color is a beautiful twist on the typical nude lipstick. While it’s still very fleshy nude, it has an orange sherbet hue to it that might be too clownish on cool pale skin tones or chalky on darker skin tones. wnw-pink2) Think Pink 901B (matte cool bubblegum pink)– A bright pop of a neutral toned pale pink. Similar to the MAC Pink Friday (Nicki Minaj limited edition lipstick) or MAC Bubblegum. MAC Viva Glam Gaga I is more blue toned.

wnw-think-pink3) Bare It All 902C (matte tawny beige)- For fair girls, this will be a tawny MLBB color; similar to MAC Blankety but without the purple undertones. For medium girls, it’ll be the perfect natural nude lips without looking like concealer lips. For dark girls, it’ll create beautiful concealer -but wearable- nude lips (to make it look pinker, apply a pink gloss and it’ll be gorgeous).

wnw-bare-it-all4) Just Peachy 903C (matte warm peachy pink)– One of my all time favorite lipsticks. I absolutely loveee this coral color and formulation. It looks like a pale coral pink on the lips. When worn with a pink/orange gloss over it, it’s absolutely perfect!

5) Spotlight Red 911D (matte blue based bright red)– A color that’s definitely not for the faintest of hearts. It appears very clown like for me due to the deep opacity of the color and the rich blue tones in it. Definitely the epitome of a fire truck red or a tomato red. Although if you’re looking for a long wearing red lipstick, definitely go for WnW Mega Last.
