Maybelline Touch of Light Luminizing Face Glow Review – Glam Radar

Hello! So today I want to post a very quick and dirty review of Maybelline Touch of Light Luminizing Face Glow. It is a brand spanking new product I picked up recently when I realized I had to save my pennies a little bit longer instead of going on a Benefit spree. I really want to try their Watt’s Up highlighter..and…well, I will. Just not this week. čśë

I have been wanting to see how much of a difference a highlighter makes for a while now and when I saw that the cost effective Maybelline brand put out a version of their own, I had to give it a go!

┬áThe consistency is gel-like and Maybelline promises that its formula┬á“reflects light to highlight skin, creating a warm, shimmery glow.” When first applied to my hand I really enjoyed the warm, bronze color. I thought perhaps some of this golden hue would stay when rubbed into skin and that only a small application would be necessary since the pigment seemed so heavily concentrated.

When I did apply it to my cheek bones and brow area I didn’t see much difference though…

I rubbed it in and the shimmery glow lost all of its power! The idea that I could capture the effects of a highlighter in a cheaper formula ($7 to $10) was a silly idea maybe. Coming from someone who hasn’t ventured too deeply into the cosmetic highlighter world, I really hope other products out there make more of an impact!

I have several other products from Maybelline…and they have worked out fine for me. I particularly love their Dream Bouncy Blush collection and concealers. I have to say though, this did not make the cut and I will not be repurchasing.

What a shame. Saving for Watt’s Up just became more imperative!
