MAC 193 Angled Foundation Brush

Always keep a look out for new MAC brush releases, so I was surprised that I hadn’t heard anything about the 193 Angled Foundation Brush prior to its release. This brush came out with the Matchmaster Foundation Collection – a range of foundations that are supposed to be “virtually invisible” on the skin. I will probably try out this foundation at some point but since it’s in the permanent line there’s no rush to go out and buy it.

The 193 brush is similar to the 190 foundation brush (see below) but with an angled, rather than curved end. I think this shape makes the brush interesting to try out and I haven’t seen anything similar from other brands.

MAC Stainless Steel Spatula

I found out about this tool on YouTube and was really intrigued to try it out. It’s a PRO item so it is only available by phone or at a PRO store. Its a double-sided tool, the scoop side is intended to be used to measure out pigments and the flat side to add and blend mixing mediums. I also intend to use it to scoop out concealers and cream eyeshadows as I hate dipping my fingers and brushes into cream products.

MAC Half Lash Curler

Although I do love my Shu Uemura eyelash curler, I’m not very good in general at using a lash curler, there are always lashes that have failed to be curled. I was intrigued to try the MAC Half Lash Curler as I thought it would give me more control by allowing me to curl sections at a time so that no lashes are left uncurled. So far I am loving this product. It also works great at adding an extra flick to the outer corner lashes.

MAC Lip Erase

I had been meaning to try this product for over a year but, because they only sell it at PRO stores, it was always shoved to the bottom of my beauty list:

The Lip Erase comes in two shades: Pale (for lighter skin tones) and Dim (for medium to darker skin tones) – which is my shade (for reference I’m NC43/44).

Pros

  • The Lip Erase is a concealer-lip balm that is meant to be great for people with highly pigmented lips like myself. It works by neutralising the lips so that when you apply lipsticks the true colour of the lipstick will show up on your lips. This product will be great to use with my MAC Lustre lipsticks which appear barely visible on me.
  • There is a fair amount of product in the pot: 15ml / 0.5 US OZ, and a little goes a long way.
  • The packaging is made of plastic so its light weight and easy to carry on the go. Plus you can Back-to -MAC the pot when its finished.

Cons

  • I would have preferred the balm to come in a lipstick-style tube – far less messy and more hygienic!
