Sleek I Divine ACID Eyeshadow Palette Review – Glam Radar

Before I start this, I should mention that I’m a HUGE fan of Sleek‘s eyeshadow palettes. I can promise you right now that this will be the first of many more in the future.

I bought Sleek’s Acid palette about two month ago and just didn’t have the occasion to wear them. I did finally wear them at Sydney IMATS this year and let me tell you, they’re amazing! I got so many compliments at the show. So many people commented on how much they loved the vibrant colours and how they had never seen anything like it before and to be honest, neither have I. The green, pink, yellow and orange remind me of a Stabilo highlighter.
If you haven’t heard the reputation of Sleek yet, its that they’re a relatively inexpensive makeup brand with extremely highly pigmented colours.

Now every once in a while Sleek releases a new palette. Sleek’s most recent palette is the Au Natural palette (which I’m yet to own) and there are a few that are still available from their website but around twenty in total.

Some you won’t be able to purchase anymore, which is sad because I want at least one colour from each of their limited edition palettes and they don’t sell each colour individually. I don’t know why cosmetic brands don’t. They’d still make a killer from palettes and individual sales of each shade, but each to their own I guess.

This was taken with a flash and I should warn you that yellow isn’t exactly what it looks like. If I didn’t use a flash it wouldn’t have looked good eitherI’ve read that this palette will not be sold to consumers in the US because their FDA standards won’t allow neon colours to be placed near or around the eye. (PS. If you’re American can you please confirm or correct my statement if its true or not). I know first-hand that there is nothing wrong with these eyeshadows. They don’t stain your skin, no allergic reaction – nothing. They are perfectly safe to use on the face.

The only disappointments I have with this palette is that the green, orange and yellow are extremely chalky. There was no way those colours would adhere to my lid without some sort of pigmented base. Even with NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in ‘Milk’ it would come out a very pale yellow, orange or green. It absolutely needed a coloured liner underneath.
I used BYS eyeliner in ‘Neon Yellow’, ‘Neon Orange’ and ‘Neon Green’ and the colours stuck themselves to it minimal effort.

Eyeshadows all by Sleek’s Acid palette Lips is OCC Lip Tar in ‘Anime’ Glitter (inner corners) is by M.A.C Pro in ’3D Silver’

Lashes have been cut in half to create half-lashes. (I can’t remember the actual name of them, sorry).

Sleek 12 eyeshadow palettes can be purchased from SleekMakeup.COM for $10 each.
