So, it’s no lie that I’ve put my hair through quite a lot in the past. It has been every colour possible, bleached, stripped, dyed then back to the start to be put through the process all over again. I’m flighty and I get bored pretty easily and this usually ends up in my poor hair suffering.  Whenever I buy hair products, specifically Asian haircare I try to keep this in mind usually opting for the ‘damage care’ lines or products aimed at being more moisturising. So, when I was last in Tokyo I picked up Skinfood’s Moisture Egg Hair Pack in their Shinjuku branch. I’ll be honest I hadn’t intended to buy this, and have never been tempted by it online and it was actually more expensive in store than you can pick it up for on eBay – however it had a big sign next to it saying it was one of their best selling items and it comes in a pretty big tube so I got it (yeah I know I’m a sucker!) The Moisture Egg Hair Pack is a hair mask for dry, damaged and frizzy hair containing egg extract for repair and shine along with hyaluronic acid, glycerin and arginine (which can help hair loss and hair growth.)   It might also be worth mentioning that these ‘active’ ingredients are all actually quite low down on the list with perfume and alcohol being within the first three.  You apply it all over damp hair after your usual shampoo and rinse away five minutes later, super easy!   It cost me around £12 for the 200g tube which might seem pricey but is actually great value for money based on how much I’ve used it and how much I actually have left, I’m more likely to get bored of it before it runs out than actually end up using the entire tube! skinfood-moisture-egg-hair-pack-2 The texture of this mask is incredibly thick, I was actually quite surprised the first time I used it as it is actually quite similar to mayonnaise in consistency. The smell is a little hard to describe I have heard it compared to custard but I would say there is a certain floral note in there as well but either way it is a nice scent that isn’t too strong.  I’ve used the mask too many times to count since getting it and I have been impressed with it, I’ve used it after bleaching my hair and though I wouldn’t say it was as moisturising as my favorite Kao Ultra Honey Hair Mask it still does a pretty good job at putting the shine back into hair that chemical processing takes out.   So far I’ve only used it as a hair mask but I have heard people having success with it using it in place of their usual conditioner which is something I would definitely recommend for those with dry brittle hair based on my experience with the product. Have you tried any of the Skinfood haircare? What do you think?
