Revlon Photoready Cream Blushes in Pinched and Coral Reef review and swatches – Glam Radar

I’ve got drug store makeup shopping down to a science. I know that when I start hearing people talk about a new product (especially if they live in bigger cities) that my Rite Aids or drug stores will get it probably a week later. When I heard a few people tweet about the new Revlon Escapism Collection, I kept an eye out every time I went out shopping. Today was finally the day, and whilst picking up prescriptions, I finally saw them in Rite Aid (for buy one get one 50% off no less!)revlon-photoready-cream-blushes-in-pinched-and-coral-reef The collection features three cream blushes (I chose not to pick up the hot pink because I just am not a huge fan of blue based pinks) along with a variety of other products including lip glosses, bronzers and more. I didn’t pick up anything other than the two blushes from this collection, mainly because I didn’t find anything really appealing or unique about any of the other items. The cream blushes are brand new to Revlon, and of course I just love cream blush anyway! My one negative about these blushes (which has nothing to do with the quality) is that they are almost $13 a piece. That’s pretty steep for a drugstore item. That’s the price of products at MAC, so that makes it a little harder to enjoy purchasing these!  So let’s get into the review!  The cream blushes come in little pots, similar to the Sleek Pout Polishes. The pots are a nice durable plastic with a glossy finish, so they will stay clean even tossed in your makeup bag. The first color that I chose is called Pinched, and this is a beautiful neutral peach with some hints of coral. I absolutely love this shade. When I first saw these, I was immediately drawn to this one first. This is a perfect color for anyone, because it can be worn sheer, or could be built up for a more dramatic coverage.revlon-photoready-cream-blush-in-pinched   Pinched gives a beautiful sheer wash of color, but as I said, can be built up for more color payoff. This seems like it will be my “best friend color”, it just matches any look and meshes with my skin tone beautifully.revlon-photoready-cream-blush-in-pinched-swatch The second color that I chose to get is called Coral Reef, and this is by far the brightest from the collection.  At first I was a little hesitant to purchase this, because in the jar it just looks far too bright and extremely intimidating, but the word coral sucked me in. I figured that although these products are supposed to be really amazing, they would probably be sheer and I could get away with a color like this. In the end, I’m happy that I convinced myself.revlon-photoready-cream-blush-in-coral-reef  Coral Reef is a beautiful shade that can be worn just like Pinched, sheer for a flush of color, or built up for a more bright payoff. I absolutely love the color of this product, it will be perfect for summer when I am a little tanner. revlon-photoready-cream-blush-in-coral-reef-swatch Both of these shades are extremely great quality, both very buttery and easy to apply. I forsee that using my fingers will probably be the best way to apply these guys, but a dense synthetic brush, like the F80 from Sigma or it’s angled counterpart, may do the trick as well. Overall, I give these products an A, A++ if they were a bit more affordable. Also, I know that it’s a summer collection, but I’m hoping Revlon keeps these around and releases a few more shades as the seasons go on!vv
