Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie – Glam Radar

Roll up roll up my lovelies for one of the most anticipated beauty releases of the season! The Revlon Lip Butters! 😀

As we all know [and hate], they aren’t out in the UK until the 14th March [personally I am counting down the days], however I have been fortunate enough to get my hands on one of them early! [thank you to Erin – mssmalltownbeauty on youtube for sending it to me in a ‘beauty swap’].

This is the Revlon Lip Butter in the shade ‘Berry Smoothie’ [ It’s already a cult classic!]. It’s been over a week since I first squealed with delight as I opened it and I’ve been testing it out ever since!

The concept is simple. It is the love child of your favourite lip balm and lipstick with a little bit of lip gloss thrown in there for fun! 😀

When I first swatched it I was a little disappointed. It seemed quite sheer and sticky and I set myself up for just another beauty product that had been over-hyped on the blog-o-sphere. However when I swatched it on my lips, I actually couldn’t have been more wrong!

Not only is it more pigmented, but it is instantly soothing and moisturising. It’s all the practicality you need from a lip balm [my lips are SO chapped in Winter], yet it has that ‘your lips but better’ oompf that makes you feel like you’re wearing much much more.

I adore the colour, it’s great for everyday use and I can’t even begin to express how much better my lips feel then when they were plastered in matte lipsticks all day. In fact the only cons I can find are the very very slight stickiness [but I am being very very picky], and also the lasting power which doesn’t quite live up to the reputation of a lipstick [but then again, it ISN’T one!].

Overall I’d give it a 4.5 out of 5! I actually cannot WAIT for the UK release of them; I am DYING to get my hands on some of the brighter colours for summer, ‘Lollipop’ being the one I am particularly excited for. It is also worth a note that I think this is a great drugstore dupe for Mac’s ‘Nymphette’ lip glass, on my lips at least.

Would I recommend them? DEFINITELY! I’m sure you’ll love them as much as I do, and when you do try them out, be sure to let me know what you think 🙂
