Too Faced Retractable Kabuki Brush Review – Glam Radar

by Ms. Wedgie · June 10, 2015

I’ve been trying to find ‘the perfect’ kabuki brush for months now.  My poor man has been dragged around the shops for hours and has had to endure looking at countless websites and hearing me say ‘what about this one?’ more times than I care to admit.  Finally, I have found a brush that meets all my strict requirements (hoorah!!) and here it is…

As soon as I saw the Too Faced Retractable Kabuki Brush in my local Boots I jumped up and down with glee.  The packaging is flowery, girly and gorgeous and I absolutely fell in love with it.

The brush is housed within a metallic pink retractable case that protects the brush from getting squashed and out of shape in your make up bag.  My old brush was fantastic but because it didn’t come in any kind of protective case or pouch it ended up getting all bent out of shape.  Also, because naughty me would just throw it back in my bag once I’d used it, I always ended up covering everything in powder!  Mmmmm…not really a good look.

The brush is made from synthetic fibres which Too Faced call ‘Teddy Bear Hair’.  It is sooooo lovely and soft that every time you use the brush you’ll want to sit and stroke it like a pet kitty cat afterwards.  So far I’ve used it for blusher, powder and bronzer and I’ve found that it gives a lovely even finish with all three.   As the brush is synthetic you can guarantee that no furry critters were harmed just so you can powder your mug.  Although…Too Faced don’t mention whether any Teddy Bears were harmed!  Might have to investigate that a bit further! 🙂 The brush costs £21 which (in comparison to other brands) is a reasonable price to pay for a decent quality brush.  Also, Boots had an offer where you get a free gift if you spend more than £20!  Ooooh freebies, I hear you cry. The freebie is a make up bag which contains a minature Lash Injection Mascara, Mirror Mirror Gloss and Starry Eyed Glitter Liquid Eyeliner.  Really happy with the products but the make up bag is the vilest thing I have ever laid eyes on!!! To sum up…it is pink ruched polyester crap.  I can’t really complain as it was free but I don’t think I’ll be using it anytime soon. What do you think of Too Faced products? Have you bought any lovely goodies from them recently?
