NARS Dolce Vita Blush Review – Glam Radar

Just a quick post to show some swatches I took of the blush. This is one of those products that make me feel genuinely pretty. I thank whoever the genius is behind Dolce Vita.

I think my camera captured the color pretty accurately. At first glance, you might think Dolce Vita is just another boring, old lady-ish dusty rose-brick shade but that’s just because the color in the pan is highly concentrated. When I wear this blush sparingly on my bare skin, I’d look like I just came from jogging with reddened cheeks. It looks so natural and beautiful.

Depending on your skintone, I believe Dolce Vita could come out either reddish pink or warm rosy pink. On me it was the latter (you could check out this FOTD to see how it looks on me) although I can certainly intensify it to get the reddish tone to show up.

swatched rather heavily on my arm

This color very much reminds me of my early encounters with makeup. I remember I used to have something like this in a mineral loose from; Ciel Minerals’ blush in Brick. Brick was one of my very first blushes. I loved it at the time but never repurchased as I thought it lacked staying power. I’m glad I came across Dolce Vita that stays on practically all day!

It also impresses me how buttery smooth the texture of this blush is. You can probably tell from the look of it on my fingers.

It has silver specks of glitter but they don’t stand out at all once they touch your cheeks. I can safely say that Dolce Vita has a matte finish.

After all those praises I’m left with just one tiny disappointment; I find that this blush can be a bit hard to blend at times. I don’t know if it’s just because right now my cheeks are rather dry, or it’s just the way Dolce Vita applies. I would recommend applying tiny amount of product using a not too dense blush brush (or a duo fiber if you’d prefer) then build the color up gradually.

All in all, I love Dolce Vita and thought it was massively underrated. Has anyone tried this blush too? What do you think about it?
