MAC Viva Glam Cyndi Lipstick Dupe – Glam Radar

MAC Viva Glam Cyndi is a “muted tinted rose pink” matte finish lipstick that was part of the MAC Viva GlamCollaboration with Cyndi Lauper in 2010 (source). It is more of a rosy pink than a sheer, light red. When compared to other sheer reds, Viva Glam Cyndi has a definite rose tone. I couldn’t find a dupe for this lipstick but rather 3 alternatives.

2) L’Oreal Caresse Stick in Cherry Tulle ($9) – Cherry Tulle is a bit redder and much thinner than Viva Glam Cyndi but still very close. For some odd reason, my camera picked up the redness in my lip lines when it looks more consistent in real life.

3) Revlon Lip Butter in Cherry Tart ($7) – Cherry Tart isn’t nearly as good of a match as Cherry Tulle is but due to the popularity of the lip butters, you might already have this in your collection. Like with Cherry Tulle, my camera picked up the reddness in patches when the color is much more consistent in real life. This is not a dupe for MAC Viva Glam Cyndi; the formula is very similar but it’s simply too red.

 (L-R) MAC Viva Glam Cyndi, Revlon Teak Rose over lipbalm, Revlon Teak Rose 3) Revlon Super Lustrous in Teak Rose ($8) – When swatched on the arm, Teak Rose looks nothing like Viva Glam Cyndi. Teak Rose is pigmented; Cyndi is sheer and glossy. It’s not even sheer enough on top of lip balm. But because of the same undertone, this somehow magically transforms to looking practically identical on my lips (Cyndi is a smidgen redder; your mileage might vary) — much much closer than Cherry Tulle or Cherry Tarte despite the glaring pigmentation difference. I don’t know how it works…it just does. If you love the color of Viva Glam Cyndi but not the formula and sheerness, then Teak Rose is a fantastic alternative. *Might be 75% on CVS clearance*
