Topshop Lips In Pillow Talk & Rumour Has It Review – Glam Radar

Hi pretties! here is my Topshop Lips In Pillow Talk & Rumour Has It Review!

Pillow Talk is a light cool toned baby pink. It is the sort of shade I would usually stay well away from, but I actually quite like it as a sheer dab of colour. Light shades such as these can be extremely unforgiving on dehydrated lips so I only wear it after thoroughly exfoliatating and moisturising. The formula is good and the lipstick applies very creamily and opaquely with a few swipes but settles in my lip lines after a few hours. I can get around 2-3 hours of wear without eating or drinking.

Rumour Has It is a warm rosy brown with a hint of golden micro-shimmer. It feels like a very dated colour in the bullet, the sort of Bobbi Brown ‘brown’ popular in the 90’s, but, on my pigmented lips, it applies to be a very natural rosy brown – not too dissimilar from my natural lip colour. The lipstick formula is much more forgiving on my lips in this shade, because I can’t quite tell whether the lipstick applies unevenly or settles into my lip lines. I think it needed to be a lot more rosy to be widely appealing, because it’s not a shade that will flatter a lot of skin tones – particularly if you’re pale or have a cool complexion – but for me, I like it a lot.

As with the other products from the Smoke & Mirrors collection the packaging is slightly different from the core collection. These lipsticks contain the same amount of product as the core lipsticks, but the bullets are housed in a slightly chunkier brown plastic tubes instead of the usual white. Personally, I detest unecessary bulk in makeup packaging so I am not a fan (nor do I appreciate being charged £1 extra for the special packaging either) but these are my first experiences with Topshop lipsticks in this form and I am enjoying them. I don’t find them particularly hydrating on my lips, but they are no uncomfortable to wear either.
