Laura Mercier Caviar Stick – Smoke and Khaki – Glam Radar
by Maria · September 23, 2014
I bought two of the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick’s last month because I swatched them a couple times over a few weeks when ever I popped past a counter and eventually succumb to Smoke first and liked it so much that I went back for Khaki a week later. What I like most about these sticks is that they make it so easy to do a smoky eye whether it’s just using the Caviar Stick as a single colour or as a base for other colours on top which is also brilliant because of the staying power of the Caviar Stick’s.
Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Smoke is a charcoal grey with subtle silver shimmer. It doesn’t dry and set too quickly so there’s time to blend and make it work the way I like. But when it sets, it sets! This stuff doesn’t shift and I haven’t any issues with creasing either.
Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Khaki is a dark mossy brown based green, very khaki and has a bit of a metallic sheen which I really like. On application it has a deep dark green hue but blended it gives a lovely soft smoky look which I like paired with gold or nude beige. The Caviar Stick formula is great. It has a lovely creamy texture that gives enough time to blend and play with before setting like concrete. It’s easy enough to build the colour and I found it easiest to let each layer dry before adding another. Once set this stuff did not rub, migrate, smudge, crease or anything when I wore them.
The only problem I found for myself was that the tips are quite wide and so are harder to use as a liner smudgy look. It’s more for the full on smoky. I was comparing these to the way the Stila Smudge Stick works for me (post coming up).
What do you think? Have you tried the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick’s before?
