John Plunkett Glyco Peel review – Glam Radar

You all know I’m a huge of skincare so when I was asked if I wanted to try out the John Plunkett Glyco Peel I was excited! I have never tried a chemical exfoliator despite the hype around them because I honestly didn’t think they’d be that great, I liked my regular manual exfoliating method however I’ve been surprised of the effectiveness of this product. john-plunkett-glyco-peel How John Plunkett Glyco Peel  works? So if you’re anything like me you see ‘peel’ in the name of this product and you’re instantly scared – don’t worry I was super sceptical thinking my skin was going to flake away to nothing. You really don’t need to freak out because that won’t happen at all. This product is a gel consistency containing 25% Glycolic Acid which is the ingredient that helps exfoliate away the top layer of the skin. It’s very gentle and simply buffs away the dull, dead skin cells that are on the surface of your skin. There is a ingredient called Lactokine which helps protect your skin against any inflammation as well as trusty old Aloe Vera which will help soothe the skin. I never found this harsh, painful or like it did too much exfoliating at all so as long as you use it as directed you’ll be fine. The best thing about this product is that any skin type can use is there is just an adjusted application routine for each skin type. All still use this as a serum type product so it’s to be applied before your moisturiser and then left for a minute to dry, then pop your moisturiser on over the top. Normal skin: every second night Sensitive skin: rinse off after one minute to avoid irritation There is also a recommendation that you use this for a week on/week off cycle which I’ve been finding has been perfect for my skin. This just ensures that you aren’t over-exfloiating your skin and I just have been switching to a rose hip-oil instead of this as my serum. My Experience with John Plunkett Glyco Peel  I’ve actually been super impressed with the results I’ve seen after only 2 cycles of using the product. I have combination/oily skin but decided to use this every night and I found everyday I was waking up with super soft skin. I really love that it’s as simple as applying before your moisturiser and you’ll get the same results as a manual exfoliator. This is also aimed to reduce fine lines and surface discolouration and I’ve found it has been helping my skins with hyper pigmentation I have but it’s nothing instant – it’s just something I’ve noticed a slight reduction in and I hope with continued use I will see more results with that. I think that this is a winner in terms of what it claims and the results I have seen. I really think if you’re put off by these types of products like I initially was there is no need to be because it really is a fantastic product that you will enjoy using. I can see this being part of my skincare routine on a long term basis as I almost prefer using this over my Clarasonic. I really think it’s worth giving a try as I’ve been so impressed with the change I’ve seen in my skin and I think you will too 🙂 Available from Plunketts for $28.95
