My Summer Picks : High End Lipsticks REVIEW – Glam Radar

by Maria · May 31, 2014

I have to admit, I’m not a big fan of Summer. I can’t stand the heat, I get allergies, my skin gets sunburned at the mere sight of the sun…To cut a long story short, I prefer the slightly cooler months like May and September. Here is my review of My Summer Picks 2013: High End Lipsticks ! However, not liking Summer doesn’t prevent me from buying lots of new makeup items 🙂 I’m a girl after all! Thus, just like every other season, I’m going to introduce you to my personal makeup picks, starting off with high-end lipsticks. high-end-lipsticks-2 Gorgeous Raspberry-pink with a hint of coral. Since it has a Lustre finish, you can decide to either sheer it out in oder to create a stain or build it up and wear it as a full-on lipstick. Plus, it’s really moisturizing and comfortable on the lips. Love it. BURBERRY LIP COVER IN PRIMROSE HILL PINK  Strawberry red with a yellow-ish undertone. Beautifully formulated lipstick with a lovely scent and chic packaging. This is more of a full-on lipstick. However, if you blot it down and wear a gloss or lip balm over top, you’ll be left with a beautiful glossy stain. YSL VOLUPTE SHEER CANDY IN SUCCULENT POMEGRANATE (N°4) The YSL Sheer Candy range is very controversial. To be honest, I don’t really know where I stand. I like them because they are sheer, they have a nice scent and a luxurious packaging BUT I don’t find them overly moisturizing (they feel really watery and slippery on your lips) and the longevity is quite disappointing… I guess I would only recommend them if you’re looking for something to splurge on. Otherwise, I would stick to the traditional tinted lip balms.

CHANEL ROUGE COCO SHINE IN FLIRT & PYGMALION I love everything about them: The smell, the sleek packaging, the formula (which I believe has been improved now; the longevity is much better), the texture, the fact that you can just smack them on without having to use a mirror, the color range, etc. I love Flirt because I find that it’s the only orange-coral that I can pull off without looking like a clown 🙂 It’s just a really fresh color that screams summer. Pygmalion has quickly become my new favorite. I cannot leave the house without it! This red-pink-coral will instantly brighten up your complexion. It’s a MUST-HAVE! I’m not sure if it is still available since it was part of the Summer Collection that came out in May (? or June?). Check your local counter and if they still have it, GRAB IT while you can! Suspense is a gorgeous fuchsia that will look particularly beautiful on pale-skinned ladies. high-end-lipsticks-4 DIOR ADDICT EXTREME IN PLAZA & LUCKY I seriously adore this lipstick range. Dior really nailed it! They are lightweight, bright, moisturizing, create a long-lasting stain, feel comfortable on your lips, don’t bleed, and the list goes on! If you haven’t tried them yet, you’re missing out on a wonderful product! Plaza is a bright blue-toned pink/fuchsia that will look great on every skin tone. Lucky is a bright coral-red-pink statement color that will bring some freshness to your face. YSL ROUGE PUR COUTURE GLOSSY STAIN IN ROSE BABY DOLL It was love at first sight! When I saw this color, I knew I could not walk past it without ending up buying it. It’s a gorgeous vibrant fuchsia pink that would suit a lot of different skin tones. I’m not the biggest fan of the consistency of these glossy stains. They are quite sticky and thick but that’s exactly what makes them so long-lasting. In order to make them more comfortable to wear, I like to blot them down and wear a lip balm or (non sticky) gloss over the top. What is your Must-Have summer lipstick?
