ELF Studio High Definition Loose Powder Review – Glam Radar

This is the supposed dupe for the MUFE HD powder except this costs just £6 for 8g of product. Here is my review of ELF Studio High Definition Loose Powder !

The powder is just silica and silicones and as a result is supposed to blur out lines and pores.

The packaging is just awful. Every time you tap it to get some powder out of the sifter it ends up all over the threads of the cap and everywhere but in the cap where you want it to be. Loose powders in general are a bit messy but this is the worst I’ve ever used. I’m seriously considering decanting it into a different container.

Now you will have noticed that the powder is white. I’ve read a million reviews that have said that despite this is you are using the right amount you won’t end up with a white cast on the skin. I have tried using so little that I needn’t have bothered using it at all but I have still noticed a slight hint of ghost face. It’s not noticeable on me but I wonder if it would be on darker skin. I notice a very slight blurring effect but it isn’t air brush in a (very messy) pot.

Granted it does keep me matte a little longer than my Estee Lauder Lucidity powder. And used on a small fluffy job the silica base of the powder does as good a job as my Benefit Powderflage at setting my under eye concealer and preventing creasing. To be honest I’d heard so many good things about this I thought that it would be instant holy grail status but nope, it’s just ok. The packaging makes it hard work to use. Personally I’m happy to use it up but I won’t be buying it again x
