Sally Hansen Simply Smooth hair remover : Does it Work? – Glam Radar

Today I am going to give a brief recap of my experience with Sally Hansen Simply Smooth Hair Remover.sally-hansen-simply-smooth-review

I, like many other ladies probably, am not the biggest fan of shaving. It adds a good extra 15 minutes to my shower routine. And that’s when I am going fast and usually get a good few nicks! On a daily basis, this necessary ‘girl thing’ is a bother and I am very tired of the little scars on my leg. On top of that, I am a klutz!

I never give hair removal products much of a chance because I am so used to the good old razor and shaving creme. Even with my mild dissatisfaction with the whole process, finding a different option never really struck me.

That is, until last week. I was mindlessly perusing the drugstore shelves on my break and saw this pump of hair remover creme from Sally Hansen for $9. Why not? I took it home hoping I could use it on the weekend, have smooth legs for a good couple of days, and maybe only get away with using a razor one other time during the week. After all it does claim: Skin feels silky smooth for up to 6 days.

My first go-around with Sally Hansen Simply Smooth hair remover didn’t work so well to be honest. They say to apply it before you start your shower, wait 1 minute outside the shower to let it sink in, then wait 2 minutes inside the shower before “vigorously” rinsing off. I followed the guidelines but when I started to rub it off, I still felt my prickly hair! Talk about disappoint. I shaved and decided to maybe try again in a couple of days when I could devote a couple extra minutes to let it stay on longer.

Well, yesterday evening  tried it out for a second time. This morning (actually right now as I am typing this too! haha) I am stroking my lower leg and it is smooth! Now, not professional wax smooth by any means, but it feels like how my leg would feel late in the day after a shave the previous night (if that follows). When I applied it last night I left it on for about 4 minutes outside of the shower with no water contact. Once in the shower I didn’t rub it off right away even though my legs were in contact with the water. In about another 4 minutes I rubbed it off and I could feel the difference. It worked!

All in all, this product will take the hair off your legs. I do not feel like it does a better job then shaving nor do I feel like the results will stay much longer than a normal shave…but I do like the fact that I walk away from this with less nicks and/or accidents. I would use it when I just feel to lazy to do the whole shaving process. Instead I can just slather on some creme, check my email for 5 minutes, then pop in the shower.

Sally Hansen Simply Smooth hair remover its not  a miracle product, but I am glad I gave it a try to see how it compares! I would recommend it if you are accident prone like me.
