For some reason, when I purchase cosmetics from Chanel, I automatically judge the fact that it’s “CHANEL” and assume everything is amazing. WRONG! I purchased this after swatching it on the back of my hand. It’s beautiful, besides feeling a bit wet at first, it shimmers beautifully. With this eyeshadow, you should be able to achieve subtle to intense color with an “effortless” satin-like finish. It also claims to deliver incredible staying power while minimizing lines and dryness.
When I applied it to my eyelids, I wasn’t sure what to think at first. It takes several layers to get it to show any color on me. In order to layer it, you have to wait for it to set because it feels so wet. I also find that if I don’t keep my eyes closed while it’s drying, it creases. I hardly find this application “effortless.” I do admit the lasting power is pretty amazing. As far as minimizing lines and dryness, I didn’t see any difference. Maybe my eyelids aren’t dry enough to actually see the true effect. The actual product will last quite a few applications but for $32, I was expecting more of a color pay off. I’m positive there are thousands of other cheaper products that will give you a lasting shimmer.
