One of my favorite Food Network chefs has to be the Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond. I love to follow her blog and watch her episodes that air every Saturday morning. Well, one of her recent episodes she made this amazing caramel sauce and so far I have made it twice and have enjoyed it with vanilla ice cream!!! ( Also check my Caramel Chocolate Cake recipe ! ) It is my favorite cheat meal to have on Sundays. She calls this her easy caramel sauce and it is to die for. So I have decided to share with you guys this recipe and it is a must for all caramel lovers. Also like to thank my boyfriend for taking the picture of it. It is so good I had to let it have its own photo shoot for the blog post.
What You Need to make Homemade Caramel Sauce :
4 tbsp softened butter 1/2 cup of half and half 1 cup of brown sugar pinch of salt
1 tbsp of vanilla extract
What You Need To Do
In a medium sized saucepan over medium low heat add the first four ingredients. Stir all of those ingredients together until it begins to thicken into caramel sauce. Stir slowly for about 5 to 7 minutes. Then add the vanilla extract and stir for one more minute to let it get even thicker. Then turn off the heat and pour it into a jar and refrigerate it to let it get cool. After that you can pour it over anything you like!
