Base Trial: Cream Color Base OVER Bare Canvas Paint and Urban Decay Primer Potion Review | Glam Radar

EYE FACTS: Slightly oily lids Double eyelid on the left-side Lid skin is slightly loose

Sensitive eyes

The following trial is based on MAC’s Cream Color Base put over Urban Decay Primer Potion (left eye) and MAC’s Bare Canvas Paint (right eye). Here is my review of Base Trial: Cream Color Base OVER Bare Canvas Paint and Urban Decay Primer Potion !

This is taken from my Pink/Purple FOTDand results are reported as of the end of the day. Directional cues are according to how you see the pictures on your screen (your left, not my left).

Cream Color Base over UDPP (Left-Eye)
Color payoff
Still represents the colors as they were in the morning. This I really like because pinks on me normally dissipate as the day wears on. And you can tell that my lids are looking hydrated and not dry. Dry is what I’m used to.

Crease Factor
Although it does crease for me, at least it wasn’t as bad as Cream Color Base on it’s own.

Ease of use/blending
Easy. Just load your brush (or finger) and transfer the Cream Color Base after applying UDPP over your lid. Lightly pat the CCB on first all over your lid, then go back and smooth everything together. If you just glide the product across your eye, you’ll have too much creamdeposited in one area. I used a brush but would suggest that using a clean finger would work better as your finger tends to apply product thinly and evenly. Especially if you have oily eyelids and plan on trying out this method, a VERY THIN layer of Cream Color Base is more than ample. As for blending, it was wonderful!

Tools
Firm bristles brushes like the MAC 242, 252 or a clean ring finger.

Using it this way is great if you have…
dryer lids. But if your lids are dry/normal, then you can probably wear CCB on its own.

Using it this way is not so great if you have…
oily eyelids unless UDPP is drying for you.

Overall…
No thanks. Not going to use it over UDPP.

Cream Color Base over Bare Canvas Paint

(Right-Eye)
Color payoff A bit more vibrant than Cream Color Base over UDPP. This is probably because a layer of Bare Canvas is more drying to my eye than UDPP is.

Crease Factor

I experienced minimal creasing with this. But believe I could have better results if I applied CCB with my finger instead of with a flat bristle brush.

Ease of use/blending Same as Cream Color Base over UDPP.

Tools
Firm bristles brushes like the MAC 242, 252 or a clean ring finger to smooth product out after applying to ensure proper and even product distribution.
