Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Pomegranate

I mentioned in my last Barry M post that I was interested in picking up a couple more of their polishes as I had forgotten how much I loved them. I did see all the hype surrounding the Gelly Nail Paints last year, but never picked one up as I was trying to save a bit of money and restrained from buying things which I didn’t need.  However, I noticed that Boots were doing a 3 for 2 offer on their cosmetics and I had about £12 worth of points to use so I thought I would treat myself.barry-m-gelly-nail-paint-in-pomegranate barry-m-gelly-nail-paint

Application wise, this is one of the nicest nail polishes I have ever used.  It is so opaque and you could definitely get away with one coat if you were in a bit of a rush. As expected it is extremely glossy and definitely resembles a gel manicure.

On the other hand, I found that this nail polish chips extremely easily. I tried it with both a base and top coat and it doesn’t seem to extend the wear.  Nail polish normally lasts 3 or 4 days on my nails before it starts to chip as I have short nails, but this only lasted a day.  As it is quite an opaque formula it made it easy to top up the chips, but that is beyond the point.

Overall I am quite disappointed purely for the wear time, but it’s definitely a good polish if you were wanting it for a night out or an event.

The Barry M nail polishes retail for £3.99 from Boots and Superdrug.
