Ark Skincare- Age Prepare Face Masque – Glam Radar

by Maria · June 6, 2014

I have had troublesome dry skin for years now as well as the odd spots just randomly appearing on my face. Here is my review of Ark Skincare- Age Prepare Face Masque !

Facial masks have been a saviour for me over the past few months. Other than closing up my pores and making my skin extremely soft it gives my face a break from the constant makeup I use everyday.

For the past few months I have used Mask of Magnaminty by Lush and have wrote a separate blog  post about it which you can view here. I have always loved this mask but I wanted to try something new and a bit less messy.

I have been hunting for a new facial mask for around a month so I will try anything!

ARK skincare do products that are age related and have placed their products into three different categories. They believe “if you use the right products for the right time in your life and support the natural functions of your skin according to your age-related needs, you are better placed to improve your skin health.”

The three categories include Age Prepare, which are for teens to early 30’s. Age Maintain for mid 30s to 50 to nourish the skin if it is showing signs of ageing. Finally the group Age Repair for 50s and beyond, this supports mature skin with established signs of age.

The age prepare skin purifying masque, is a revitalising mulitvitamin masque which purifies the skin and smooths texture. It is said to absorb excess oil with the mineral clays within it such as Bentonite and Kaolin and temporary tightens pores.

I have been using this product for over 3 weeks now and I can definitely see an improvement with my skin. I had a few break outs before using this product and after a couple of times using it, they have disappeared which is always a good thing! The smell of the product is fresh and is very herby/minty. I love minty scents and therefore does not bother me the slightest. The texture of the masque is quite creamy and once applying a thin layer over the face and neck it dries clear. You are told to leave it on for 10 minutes. Once the 10 minutes are up, just like any other masque it tightens  the face. On my first try of the product my face did sting, but on applications after it did not at all. I have no idea why it did that but maybe my skin is a little messed up. After washing off with warm water my pores “temporarily” did feel tightened. My skin was so soft and I did feel rather refreshed. It did what it said on the tin and I am happy to have had a chance to try this little beauty out.

Would you like to try it out? Do you like the idea of trying products suited to your age range?
