A Little MAC Haul:

Ever since I was little I’ve been excited for my prom and now it’s only four days away! I’ve already bought my dress, shoes and bag and booked my hair, nails and tan; however as I’m a bit of a perfectionist I’m doing my own makeup. I used prom as an excuse to buy some more products from my favourite brand MAC.

MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 I’ve been lusting after a MAC foundation for a while but could never decide which to get. I settled on this one with prom in mind, as I want my skin to look natural yet still covered. This foundation has a medium-buildable coverage, which means that it gives good coverage without looking too caked on, and coverage can be built up in areas where your face might need it. MAC Lipstick in Coral Bliss Of course, I couldn’t buy anything from MAC without buying a lipstick too. I originally boutgh Patisserie for prom however after seeing this shade on a few blogs, I instantly fell in love with it and couldn’t ‘continue to checkout’ without it. Coral Bloss is a lovely shade between pink and orange, giving a bit more colour than a nude would. When I first applied this, I had forgotten that I’d pushed the lipstick out too far, and when I went to put it on my lips the lipstick broke! Fortunately it was easily fixable and I just have to remember to either not push it out as far or simply just use a lip brush. This went straight to the top of my wishlist after seeing Zoella mention it in a recent favourite video. I’ve been wanting a highlighter for ages now but have never been able to find one I like in places like Boots or Superdrug. I was going to get Benefit High Beam but couldn’t bring myself to part with so much money on a single, tiny highlighter. MAC pigment can be used anywhere. I like to use it under my eyebrows, on the inner corner of my eyes, down the bridge of my nose, on my cupid’s bow and along the top of my cheek bones. Sometimes I use it as an eyeshadow too. I love how multipurpose this is and a little goes a very long way, which justifies the £16.50 price tag. MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study I’m an owner of very few creme eyeshadows, and I’ve been meaning to buy a good creme eyeshadow base colour for a long, long time now, but things like lipsticks and Company magazine got in the way. When buying this, I was stuck between Bare Study and Soft Ochre. Both are lovely light, nude colours, Soft Ochre being a warmer colour and Bare Study being a little lighter and cooler. For the purpose of prom, I ended up ordering Bare Study, as my bag and shoes are silver so I felt a colder, more silvery colour would go better with my complete look. a-little-mac-order-7 MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural in Light I really wanted this after watching LaurenBeautyy’s prom makeup tutorial on youtube. Putting this powder over highlighted areas really accentuates them and adds an extra bit of shimmer, without looking too glittery and unnatural. In a way, I do wish I had gone with my gut instinct and bought Soft and Gentle, but it was a whole 50p more than this and I couldn’t bring myself to up the total price from £86.50 to £87. I could buy two Freddos with that.

Top to bottom: Bare Study Paint Pot, Vanilla Pigment, Coral Bliss Lipstick

Overall I’m very happy with the things I have bought and I’m super excited for my prom now. If anything, this had made me want to buy more products from MAC even more which probably isn’t very good for my purse (but extremely good for my face). What are your favourite MAC products?
