Hey everyone! So a few days ago, I decided to go to the drugstore because I am a drugstore makeup addict and love trying out new products. If you didn’t know already, the brand Hard Candy is sold exclusively at Walmart, and because my collection included nothing from Hard Candy, I knew it was time to try it out.
The first thing I got is the Hard Candy Sheer Envy Primer. This was $8, which is a pretty great deal. When I first swatched this on my hand to feel the texture, it felt almost identical to Benefit’s
Pore-fessional Primer! It’ll be hard for this primer to live up to the Benefit one, but I am definitely excited to use this because a cheap but great face primer is hard to find at the drugstore.
Next I picked up the Hard Candy Glamoflauge concealer in Ultra Light. Unfortunately the color is way too light for me, but it works well for highlighting and under the eyes. I’ll have to go back to Walmart to pick up a darker shade, but I did try this concealer out after hearing gurus rave about it, and I love it!! For just $6, it has GREAT coverage, and I could easily wear this without foundation because the smallest amount covers so much! This concealer really lives up to the phrase “a little goes a long way”.
Then I decided I wanted to try a Maybelline Fit Me blush. Being a huge fan of coral (especially for the summer), I decided to pick up the color Medium Coral. This was $4.48, so very cheap, but I have to admit I am a little disappointed with this product, because as you can see in the swatch (see below), it isn’t very pigmented. I have yet to try this on my cheeks, so I’ll keep you updated if my opinion changes.
I just couldn’t resist picking up a Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain. I have been eyeing these for almost a year now, and with Walmart’s prices, I couldn’t pass it up. This one is in the color Sweetheart Valentine. So far I love this because it isn’t drying on the lips and is very build-able pigmentation wise. This was $7.48, and worth every penny.
And the final thing I picked up was a L’Oreal nail polish. I’ve heard great things about the formulation of these polishes, and I only had 1 other in my collection. This one is in the color Orange You Jealous?, but it is more of a pinky-coral than an orange. This was $4.97, and I’m psyched to try it.
I hope you enjoyed this small haul (and semi-first impressions) and if you would like a more in-depth review on any of the products, don’t hesitate to comment and tell us! Thanks so much for staying tuned!
Have you tried anything from Hard Candy? What are your thoughts?
