Eos Smooth Sphere Lip Balm Review – Glam Radar

by Nikki · March 12, 2015

I’ve heard a lot of hype about these lip balms and so I thought I’d test it out for myself because you know me, I love my lip products no matter what they are and especially if they smell and taste of fruit.

Strawberry Sorbet (pink) & Passion Fruit (purple)

Sweet Mint (blue), Medicated Tangerine (orange), Honeysuckle Honeydew (green), Summer Fruits (red), Lemon Drop (yellow) SPF 15+When I initially applied these I put a lot of pressure on my lips when applying. I felt that a light application wasn’t going to give me enough product on my lips. However, a light hand is all you need which means the product will last longer.

I was drawn to these by a fellow Beauty Guru Miss Pixie Lulu who is also famous on YouTube.
When she first mentioned this on Twitter I started looking it up and bought them a few weeks later.

These lip balm spheres are organic and 100% natural. They’re also gluten-free, paraben-free, petrolatum-free, phthalate-free and enriched with shea butter and vitamin E. Also, its completely cruelty-free.

Summer Fruits

Smells like a Summer fruit punch. Fruits like nectarines, plums and other stone fruits. I will admit it is a lot more fragrant than the rest of the lip balms, but its not sickly sweet or over-powering.It doesn’t taste like plums but it does have a hint of sweetness to it.Perfect for Summer and those who love fruity lip balm. I also find that this one is particularly unique because it’s not a scent or flavour that you’d usually find.My first impression of it was that was nice, but not the greatest of the collection.

Sweet Mint

evolution-of-smooth-eos-lip-balm-spheres-blue Smells like eucalyptus and for those non-Aussies, its a tree with very fragrant leaves that the Koala love to eat. It almost like a cough medicine, mint smell.

This one is my absolute favourite of them all because I love love LOVE minty lip balms. This one is particularly good because you can feel the mintiness but its not too strong and doesn’t overwhelm the senses. I find the mint lasts a little longer than other ones, which is a bonus because I usually apply my lip colour over it which then becomes mint fuchsia lips! It’s also packaged in one of my favourite colours, cyan. (Not important, but something I felt should be pointed out.)

Lemon Drop

eos_lipbalm_yellow Smells like a light lemonade and which can also pass off as another Summer lip balm. It has a weird grainy texture on application, but that may differ from others of the same product and it may just be the one I received and it’s not grainy on your lips. Doesn’t taste like lemons or anything for that matter but still great scent. Another unique flavour you don’t see much of and for those who like a fresh scented lip balm with definitely like this one.

This is also SPF 15, which is probably the best for when hitting the beach or outdoors for long periods of time.

Strawberry Sorbet (LE)

eos_lipbalm_pink Smells exactly like its name, creamy strawberries. Another good one for Summer, too. I was really surprised with this because usually anything strawberry scented is so sickly sweet, but this one is nothing like anything else strawberry I’ve ever sampled.

For those who love sweet candy-like lip balms. Strawberry is a pretty standard lip balm scent and flavour so this one didn’t really impress me that much, but other than that it still works well and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, it’s just a matter of preference. I’m sure younger girls will love this too.

Passion Fruit (LE)

eos_lipbalm_purple I’m not too sure about this one. It doesn’t really smell like passionfruit at all but probably the nicest tasting of the collection. Yet another one that can be passed for a Summer lip balm. This one isn’t listed on the EOS website and when I bought it was listed as a limited edition. This sphere is probably something you don’t want to miss because it does smell and taste divine.

This one was a little creamier than the others but then again it could just be the one I got and may not be a overall product trait.

Honeysuckle Honeydew

eos_lipbalm_green The best scented of the collection and my second favourite! I think I’ve seen more photos of celebrities with this lip balm sphere than any other one. It is such a unique scent and flavour and is very light and fresh on application. It sort of smells almost like pineapple too, which reminds me of Christmas and the traditional style BBQs we Aussies love to have in the Summer.

Not over-powering or scented. Not overly sweet either. Recommended to those who like a light scented lip balm.

Medicated Tangerine

eos_lipbalm_orange A wonderful sweet citrus smell and tastes amazing! The texture of it is a little thicker than the rest of them but its gooey or sticky and it is scented a little stronger than the rest. It also have a hint of mint-like sensation after application but it doesn’t last very long.

Added zinc and vitamin C, it also had anti-bacterial protection which the other don’t have, hence being named ‘Medicated Tangerine’.

▪ Smooth application ▪ Unique packaging ▪ Lots of product ▪ Lasted moisture

▪ Lids click into place to secure

▪ Labelling – Once you’ve taken off the wrapper you just don’t know what it is unless you look it up. Only two of the 7 I bought had the label on the bottom.

I purchased all of these from ADDICTED2LIPBALM.COM.AU which is an Australian based site with an endless supply of lip products. You may even get lucky and find something you never thought you’d find. Also, the website has great customer service and very fast delivery. It’s also decently priced, with 10% off your first order, free shipping for orders over $50 – all year round – and a loyalty program where you earn points on your purchases and can redeem later on.

I highly recommend this website and I’m definitely going to be buying from them again now that I know they sell products that aren’t readily available in stores across Australia.

LOVE your work Addicted 2 Lip Balm!

EOS lip balms spheres are $6.35 each, or if you buy 5 together (blue, red, yellow, orange and green) it’s $28.75 saving you $3.00.
