The other day I was curious about all the hype around Deborah Lippmann nail polish. Here is my review of SARAH SMILE! DEBORAH LIPPMANN !
I decided to take a peek at her website and the first thing that caught my eye was a pretty pale pink polish called “Sarah Smile.” I was so excited I called my hubby at work, figuring he would put everything on hold and jump for joy with me…
If you don’t know already, my first name is Sarah. (No, that’s not enough for me to get excited about this polish.) My husband is a former Marine and while he was deployed he introduced me to the new version of “Sara Smile” by Jimmy Wayne. I obviously liked the song but it was when he returned from deployment and surprised me with front row stage tickets to Jimmy Wayne’s concert.
As he was walking me up to our seats (I was in shock, I’m used to sitting in the grass area at concerts haha) Jimmy Wayne was singing “Sara Smile.” I fell absolutely in love with the song.
Now, when I’m upset or grumpy, especially in the car, he sets his iPod to “Sara Smile” to ease any tension or in most cases, to poke fun at me.
So as you can imagine, when I saw this polish, I had to have it. Normally I wouldn’t pay the hefty price tag for a polish but this one has a special meaning to me.
Deborah Lippmann formulates her infamous nail polish with Okoume, which is a natural nail strengthener from a tree in Africa, Biotin (a cell regenerator) and Green Tea, to restore nails to their best health. She created this chic elegant color with actress Sarah Jessica Parker (also, another plus for me!) The shade is described as a sheer sexy pink but can obviously be layered to create a milky pink. Her polish is also known for being formulated to create rich and highly pigmented luscious color. Luscious? Yes! Highly pigmented? Hardly! I had to use three coats to build the color up, plus a base and top coat. It took forever to dry! However, I’ll wear it over and over. Just looking at it makes me smile!
CHECK OUT THE SONG!!!!!
