I realize I’ve gone on a surreptitious beauty spending spree lately, spending small amounts here and there with concerning frequency. My (almost) most recent purchase is Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake ($21.95 AUD). Sure, I’ll buy into the beauty blogger hype around a new product I certainly don’t need, why not. Strawberry Shortcake is a pretty, light, cool pink, with almost imperceptible white microshimmer. The formula is soft, balm-like and provides sheer to medium coverage; it immediately reminded me of Clinique’s Colour Surge Butter Shine Lipstick formula. I think Sweet Tart, a brighter pink, will be next.
I do really like it – but I’m generally a fan of that type of formula. So much more expensive to buy in Australia though!
Here’s an arm and lips swatch: Strawberry shortcake looks really pretty , what do you think ?
I’m so keen to buy some of these. But the price is quite outrageous. I’m thinking of working out what colours I like in the shops and then buying them online. I shouldn’t be buying them anyways…Oh dear.
