I recently bought a couple of NYX products and I enjoy them both. I wouldn’t necessarily tell other people to rush to the store and buy them as they’re not perfect, but considering the experiences I’ve had with NYX makeup before, I’d say these are quite nice. 🙂
|NYX Xtreme Lip Cream in Nude Peach Fuzz & NYX Wonder Pencil in Medium|
Today I wore smokey-ish eye makeup and Nude Peach Fuzz on my lips. I haven’t worn this much makeup in a while so I went ahead and took a gazillion pics of myself on Instagram. My 5 year old pocket camera is starting to get dodgy that I decided to just upload pictures from my phone on here. I mean, it’s not ideal but it’s better than nothing.
Nude Peach Fuzz has been getting a lot of rave but honestly, if it isn’t for the color and versatility, I can easily pass on it. The color is a matte pinky peach shade that goes great with both natural and clown eye makeup, which is a huge brownie point for me. You can also use it as a cream blush if you want. It’s good on top of a sheer foundation (but not powder!). However, I’m not very keen on the formula; it dries out my lips like no other and it doesn’t really stay on; it tends to move around a bit. I don’t know what it is about these lip creams but I find their consistency sort of difficult to work with. I used to have the older version of NYX matte lip cream but I already gave it away to a friend. I tried out the extreme version hoping that I would like it better and nope; still not quite there yet. Again, gorgeous summer color though. I believe it would suit most skintones nicely. I’m an NC 37 on MAC with olive-ish undertone and I love how it just brightens up my face when I wear it.

On the picture above I also wore NYX Wonder Pencil in Medium to line my waterline and highlight the inner corner of my eyes. It works well but staying power is just so-so. Regular touch up is required if you plan on wearing it for more than 2-3 hours.
The color medium is just perfect; it’s not too light nor too dark on my skin. It has a bit of a peach undertone to it which makes it even more amazing as a highlighter; it looks natural and matte. I’m not a fan of shimmery highlighter, so if you’re anything like me, you’d want to look into this product. I believe this pencil comes in three shades; light, medium and dark. If you’re NC 40 or darker, I’d recommend getting the dark one.
I read somewhere that this pencil can double up as a concealer as well but I’m not sure if it will hold up, really. I imagine it would still work for undereye area but not to cover up pimples.
Good job, NYX. Now I don’t feel so bad spending money on your stuff anymore. These two are a keeper, even though I have to always wear lip balm before applying the lip cream. Boo.
Have you tried any of these products before? What do you think about them?
