Nars And God Created the Woman Palette Review – Glam Radar

by Maria · July 11, 2014

When this palette came out as part of Nars’s Spring 2013 collection I knew I had to get my grubby little cosmetics hungry hands on it straight away – a) because of the name, which btw is And God Created The Woman  and  b) because it’s ANOTHER neutral palette.

My addiction to them is no secret!

As you may well know I don’t ‘do’ colour on my lids and if we’re being pernickity, most darker shades either. I like to stick to simple, subtle and predictably natural toned colours which I find  suit me best.

Travel-sized and crammed with six no fuss shades I have to say this limited edition offering may just be my favourite EVER. The combination of wearable day to night (yes, I did just use that cringe worthy term) colours with variable finishes from matte to full on glitter make it great for all situations and creating many looks – not that I’ve been doing that much though!

Nars And God Created the Woman Palette swatches :

L-R – Alhambra, Bellisima and Kalahari

Day to day the top row are all that have graced my lids for the past month or so. Made up of the shades Alhambra – a peachy champagne, Bellisima – a matte grey taupe and Kalahari – a tan bronze these three are great for a polished yet easy peasy eye.

While Bellisima is matte (crease perfect) the other two have more of a silky metallic finish to them making them better for all over wash colours.

L-R – Galapagos, Coconut Grove and Night Clubbing

Down below, Galapagos – a chocolate brown full of gold shimmer, Coconut Grove – a deep matte brown and Night Clubbing – an intense glitter packed black have barely been touched as I haven’t had the occasion to smoke it up for a while, but my birthday’s just around the corner.

Galapagos and Coconut Grove I’m coming for you!

What’s more this palette isn’t just palette, it’s part of an eye kit meaning it comes with some handy other additions thrown in too. Included is a small synthetic shader #3 brush and a mini Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base which I’ve always wanted to try.

The brush isn’t all that if I’m honest but the primer, now the primer is AMAZING. Unlike other creamy formula’s it’s miraculously light, almost melting on to the lids when applied and the texture is silky smooth but without that nasty silicone feeling. A big size will be promptly purchased.

Overall, this is the neutral lovers dream palette and I urge you even if you already own the likes of the various Naked/Undressed/No clothes themed shadows to take a look while you still can (it’s always in and out of stock at Space NK). The quality and colour combination of Nars And God Created the Woman Palette  is simply beautiful.
