My Foundation Routine – Glam Radar

Hi girls! I wanted to talk about my foundation routine today. Now before I start, I must tell you that this is my full fledged foundation routine and not something that I do everyday. I do all of this only on special days, like weddings or family functions.

Let me start by telling you about the foundations that I use. I use Mac Pro Long wear in NW25 or Maybelline’s Dream Liquid Mousse foundation in Nude Beige Light 3.5. The Mac one is a bit darker and I use it more often in summers or when I’m a bit tanned.

STEP 1:

I start with a cleansed and moisturized face. I then use my MUA primer all over my face.

STEP 2:

Now I use my beauty blender. I prefer to use it wet. I take some foundation on the damp beauty blender and   stipple it all over my face. This gives me a sheer layer of foundation which gives a healthy glow to the skin, but the coverage is light.

STEP 3:

Now I mix a luminizer, Benefit’s Girl Meets Pearl, with my foundation. This is the recipe for dewy, glowing skin! Use it once, and I guarantee you’ll fall in love with it! In the picture below, you can see that I use only a drop of luminizer and I mix it with almost a full pump of foundation.

  For applying my foundation, I use either my Vega foundation brush or Sigma’s Round Top Kabui F82. Personally, I love the airbrushed finish I get with Sigma but I feel the luminizer shows up better when I use Vega’s foundation brush.  Now for the concealer, I use Benefit’s Erase Paste. I use my foundation brush for this. I have tried using my fingers but the brush does a better job.    Since I love the dewy effect, I don’t over-powder my face. I lightly powder my T-zone with a powder brush. For setting the concealer, I use my Mac 282 SE. By the way, I use a compact and not loose powder.   Always, always do your eye makeup before you start with your foundation. In case there are any fall outs, you won’t have to worry about your face makeup getting ruined. If you’re use a Stippling Brush or a Kabuki like my Sigma, you must STIPPLE your foundation and not spread it like you would with a regular brush. Stippling is like patting and you can find tons of videos on youtube on how to go about it. This is something that all of you know, but I still feel I should mention it here because a lot of people mess this up. Please, make sure the color of your face matches that of your neck!
