More Femme Fatale Eyeshadow Swatches | Glam Radar

This will be my second Femme Fatale Cosmetics eyeshadow swatch post. The first swatch post was here, and a lot of you loved how the eyeshadows looked. I loved what I had from Femme Fatale so much that I ended up placing a second order not too long after (10 more mini-jars, I received 3 samples for free), and I finally have them swatched and ready to share with you guys.

I am doing things a little differently in this post — I haven’t taken any photos of the jars (how product looks in jar + labels), mostly because I needed to save myself some time to get these swatches up. But that got me thinking: do you like/prefer to see jar photos, or do you think a swatch post is fine without them? Let me know.

Before you continue on…

  • All eyeshadows are patted (not swiped) over Fyrinnae’s Pixie Epoxy
  • I like Pixie Epoxy because it brings out real intensity in eyeshadows–eyeshadows apply opaquely and duochrome/shimmer/sparkle attributes come to life over it.
  • All swatches taken in natural light
  • No flash was used for these swatches
  • Clean edges were achieved using basic scotch tape
  • There will be a picture first, then information about the eyeshadow followed by my thoughts

Amber Eyes

“A very pale coral with peach and pink tones, and a subtle green finish.”
Ingredients: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide (77491), Tin Oxide (77861), Magnesium Stearate, Carnauba Wax. (Vegan + Lip Safe)
A pretty warm-toned neutral shade, easy to wear alone or with a multitude of other colors. I personally have a hard time seeing the subtle green finish.

femme-fatale-eyeshadow-dreamstate-500x436-1

Dreamstate
“An Egyptian blue with dazzling blue sparks and colour-shifting shimmer which alternates between purple and blue depending on the angle of the light.”
Ingredients: Ultramarines (Pigment Blue 29), Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Tin Oxide (778161), Silica, Iron Oxide (77499), Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Carnauba Wax, Magnesium Stearate. (Vegan + Not Lip Safe)
Between natural lighting and fluorescent lighting I didn’t really see the shimmer shift to purple, but in spite of that this was one of my favorite shadows of the bunch. I love really strong, jewel-toned blues and the bright blue sparkles sometimes appear teal. Really beautiful color.

femme-fatale-eyeshadow-eternaltrance-500x446-1

Eternal Trance
“Eternal Trance is a dark pine green with strong teal green shimmer.”
Ingredients: Chromium Oxide Green, Ultramarines (Pigment Blue #29), Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Tin Oxide (77861), Ferric Ferrocyanide, Carnauba Wax, Magnesium Stearate. (Vegan + Not Lip Safe)
Another jewel-toned color with bright sparkles offset against a darker base… pretty straightforward. The color description is pretty spot on — a dark pine green with strong teal shimmer.

femme-fatale-eyeshadow-frostfire-500x436-1

Frostfire

“A strong azure blue with teal undertones, Frostfire has a soft reddish shine and a scattering of pink and golden sparkles.”
Ingredients: Ultramarines (Pigment Blue 29), Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Tin Oxide (778161), Silica, Blue #1 Al Lake, Yellow #5 Al Lake, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Palmitic Acid, Iron Oxide (77499), Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Magnesium Stearate, Carnauba Wax. Contains preservatives. (Vegan + Not Lip Safe)
I really, really, really like this eyeshadow. The blue reminds me of blue jeans, and I like how it is a bit subdued. There are tons of pink and golden sparkle throughout it–this is one of those colors I think you need to really see in person to appreciate how gorgeous is it. Such a pretty all-over-the-lid shade.

femme-fatale-eyeshadow-hallowedground-500x456-1

Hallowed Ground
“A pale asparagus green with stunning red shimmer.”
Ingredients: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Tin Oxide (77861), Chromium Oxide Green, Methicone, Carnauba Wax, Magnesium Stearate. (Vegan + Not Lip Safe)
A very soft minty-green shadow that looks really nice when paired with a pink highlight for the inner corner/center of the lid, playing off of the pink shimmer already in it.
This seems to have a matte white base within it, or something along those lines, so when I applied it over Pixie Epoxy it seemed a bit chalky. This can happen when you use PE with shades that are matte or semi-matte. I continued to pat it out evenly for the swatch above, but I think it’s best to use this over a different base (possibly just over regular primer) to avoid chalkiness.

femme-fatale-eyeshadow-illusions-500x468-1

Illusions
“Illusions is a brown based shade with a hint of auburn undertones, and teal duochrome finish.”
Ingredients: Mica, Iron Oxide (77491, 77499), Titanium Dioxide, Tin Oxide (77861), Silica, Magnesium Stearate, Carnauba Wax. (Vegan + Lip Safe)
Everyone need a brown-based shade with a teal green duochrome effect–it’s undeniably pretty. This shadow reminds me a lot of MAC’s “Club”, but it’s stronger–the duochrome is apparent without black base, although I’m sure putting “Illusions” over a black base would yield a stunning result. It also reminds me of the Definer shade from Wet N Wild’s “Comfort Zone” palette, but this base is a bit more chocolate-y and less red.

femme-fatale-eyeshadow-ladyofthered-500x437-1

Lady of the Red
“Lady of the Red is a black based shade filled with red shimmers and sparks – makes for a fabulous upper lash liner when foiled!”
Ingredients: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Tin Oxide (77861), Iron Oxide (77499), Magnesium Stearate, Carnauba Wax. (Vegan + Lip Safe)
A very blackened red eyeshadow. It’s not so much a black shadow with red and pink sparkles, but a blackened red base with a pink/red shimmer dispersed throughout it. It looks pretty as a liner, yes, but it also makes a really intense smokey eyes when used all over the lid with a black eyeshadow buffed into the crease–one of my favorite dramatic looks.

femme-fatale-eyeshadow-planeshift-500x447-1

Planeshift
“Planeshift is a blend of pale jungle green and teal with slight grey tones, and striking golden shimmer.”
Ingredients: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide (77499), Ferric Ferrocyanide, Blue #1 Al Lake, Yellow #5 Al Lake, Hydrogentated Polyisobutene, Tin Oxide (77861), Chromium Oxide Green, (glycidoxphenol) propane/ bisaminomethyl-norbornane copolymer, Carnauba Wax, Magnesium Stearate, Palmitic Acid. Contains preservatives. (Vegan + Not Lip Safe)
This is one of those colors you want have to have because it is just super pretty. Looking at this color just makes me happy. I love how when light hits it directly, it lights up with the golden shimmer, but where the light doesn’t hit it, it’s a subtle greyed-teal. The effect is soft, yet eye brightening.

femme-fatale-eyeshadow-temporalshift-500x443-1

Temporal Shift

“Temporal Shift is a black based shade with striking golden duochrome that almost looks green in some lights, and like Spirit Bond (another shade with golden shimmer) this gold really pops!”

Ingredients: Mica, Iron Oxide (77499), Titanium Dioxide, Magnesium Stearate, Carnauba Wax. (Vegan + Lip Safe)
I looove antiqued, patina-esque colors! It looks practically molten when used over Pixie Epoxy, and there is so much more to see in person — it’s sort of bronze, but has this golden effect, but kind of goes greenish… so hard to capture in a picture. Beautiful when used all over the lid with smokey black eyeliner and dark lashes.

femme-fatale-eyeshadow-thenightmare-500x405-1

The Nightmare
“The Nightmare is an eggplant purple base with intense golden green glimmers and sparkles.”
Ingredients: Manganese Violet (Pigment Violet 16), Titanium Dioxide, Tin Oxide (77861), Silica, Ultramarines (Pigment Blue #29), Mica, Iron Oxide (77499), Synthetic Fluorophlogopite, Carnauba Wax, Magnesium Stearate. (Vegan + Not Lip Safe)
This was a favorite of mine. I think it is because I don’t really own any eyeshadows that have a purple base with bright sparks of green. When I say sparks, I mean that the ‘golden-green glimmers’ in the description is not just a shimmer — there are tons of sparkles. (If you look at the “Temporal Shift” swatch picture again, you can see a bit of the sparkle I’m talking about.) Looks more grey in the jar but when used over Pixie Epoxy, the eggplant-purple base really deepens and the green sparkles really stand out.

femme-fatale-eyeshadow-demonsoul-500x422-1

Demon Soul
“Demon Soul is a black based shade with a colour-shifting finish, going from green through to red/pink depending on the angle of the light.”
Ingredients: Iron Oxide (77499), Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Tin Oxide (77861), Silica, Carnauba Wax, Magnesium Stearate. (Vegan + Lip Safe)
This is one of the only shades I feel sort of ‘meh’ about. I have had a difficult time seeing the green in this shadow, it almost always appears more dark grey that shifts to this pinkish color for me. I may need to try it over different bases to see if that makes a difference.

femme-fatale-eyeshadow-frozenflame-500x429-1

Frozen Flame
“A pale amber orange with peachy tones, highlighted by a subtle blue shimmer.”
Ingredients: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Tin Oxide (77861), Iron Oxide (77492; 77491), Carnauba Wax, Methicone, Magnesium Stearate. (Vegan + Lip Safe)

Another shade I am just ‘meh’ about, but mostly because it’s not a ‘me’ color. A soft pink-peach orange which very much reminds me of a frozen dessert like orange sherbet. It has a nice blue shimmer to it, so I think the name “Frozen Flame” is very fitting, due to a warm tone being paired with a cool tone.

This had an application similar to “Hallowed Ground”, where it seems to have a matte or semi-matte ingredient in it, meaning it didn’t apply easily with Pixie Epoxy. I patiently patted product over PE for the swatch above, but I would probably use it over just primer in the future, although peaches are not colors that I reach for often, if ever.

femme-fatale-eyeshadow-shiftingsands-500x433-1

Shifting Sands
“Shifting Sands is a buttery smooth jasmine yellow with subtle green shimmer.”
Ingredients: Titanium Dioxide, Mica, Tin Oxide (77861), Iron Oxide (77491), Silica, Magnesium Stearate, Carnauba Wax. (Vegan + Lip Safe)
Definitely a bright, butter-yellow color! Makes me think of daffodils. Very high shine finish when used over Pixie Epoxy. Makes for a pretty inner corner highlight shade when you need yellow golden color that isn’t brassy.

Out of all these colors, my personal favorites are The NightmareFrostfirePlaneshiftDreamstate, and Temporal Shift (in no particular order). Have you ordered from Femme Fatale yet? What were your favorite colors out of this bunch?
