Maybelline Superstay Powergloss 12H Color-Shine review

Hi, here is my review of Maybelline Superstay Powergloss 12H Color-Shine .

This is my first foray into the world of long-wear lip colours – not because I don’t like the idea of them, but because they always seem to come in colours that are dark or bright and not ‘me’ at all.
Maybelline have a new range of long wearing lip colours and I was surprised how pretty they are. I went for a baby pink called 605 Satin Glow. It’s double ended with the colour on one end and the gloss on the other.
It claims to last for 12 hours – I was very sceptical about this so decided to put it to the test the other day to keep me amused through a long day of exam revision.
At 9am (still in my dressing gown) I applied this, I really like the colour although does feel very sticky on the lips. Personally I don’t mind this at all but I know some people are very sensitive to stickiness. I really like the colour, a light baby pink, it’s quite good pigmentation and makes my lips a lot paler than they actually are.Maybelline Superstay Powergloss 12H Color-Shine

At 10am it’s still there, looking just as good as when I applied.Maybelline Superstay Powergloss 12H Color-Shine review

At 12 I was having a cup of tea and even that didn’t remove it. I even had a couple of biscuits and it lasted!Maybelline Superstay Powergloss photo

At 1pm it was still there but I don’t think it was looking as good as it had done previously.Maybelline Superstay Powergloss 12H Colorshine swatch

I am sad to report that it did not last through me through lunch. After I’d eaten it had totally vanished!
So not quite 12 hour colour shine as promised on the tube, but I still think it lasts a good few hours. It does feel quite drying though so I would definitely avoid this if you are prone to dry lips.
I got this Maybelline Superstay Powergloss 12H Color-Shine   from Boots and it was £6.84. I’ll definitely wear it, probably on a night out more than for everyday wear as I think with continued use it would really make my lips dry. xxx
