There are pretty mixed reviews floating around about MAC’s mascaras, you either love them or hate them. So naturally I was pretty apprehensive to try this mascara, I went for the most average one, the Zoom Fast Black Lash.
The mascara is sleek and compact and looks pretty normal packaging wise, nothing particularly eye catching. The mascara (8g) is in a black rubberised tube with a little shimmer.
The wand is thin and tapered towards the end which gives a super lengthening effect but because of this I didn’t get much curve in my lashes, I usually go for a fatter brush with bigger bristles.
Colour pigmentation is fantastic, a very intense black and there is something dramatic about the way it performs. However I found the formula pretty thick and clumpy and really difficult to fully remove. I guess that could also be a plus as it would literally stay on forever I reckon, great for all your party animals.
I am going to keep using this and pair it with a smokey eye for a more dramatic look, but I can’t be doing with the hassle of removing it every day. I still want to try the other MAC mascaras and see how they perform! Next on my list is the False Lashes Extreme Black. You can pick this mascara up at maccosmetics.co.uk for £14.
