MAC Velvet Teddy Lipstick Dupe – Glam Radar

by Jane · March 9, 2015

MAC Velvet Teddy is a “deep-tone beige” matte finish lipstick¬†.¬†It’s a pigmented rosy beige lipstick that looks differently on everyone and swatches differently on the arm than on the lips so it’s best to try this out in store. It can range from being pinky brown on pale skin to a natural nude on dark skin. I personally find it is more flattering on tan-darker skintones because the pink comes out more. The matte finish of this is not very drying or flat on the lips even though it may look so on the arm. It’s not my favorite shade on me because it pulls more brown than I would like.

(L-R) MAC Velvet Teddy, Wet’n’Wild Bebot Love 1) Wet’n’Wild Fergie Cream in Bebot Love ($3.50) – On the arm it looks very different – darker, more orange, and the cream finish was completely off. I initially dismissed this as being a dupe but when comparing them on the lips (on several occasions just to make sure) – they are near identical! Velvet Teddy is a bit pinker and more matte but honestly, I can’t see a difference in real life between the two. The morale of the story? Try it on the lips before jumping to any conclusions! I’ve found dupes that look nearly identical on the arms but look completely different on the lips. Wacky tabacky, I know! mac-velvet-teddy-wet-n-wild-bebot-love-500x175-1
