MAC Studio Finish Concealer & Becca The Ultimate Mascara Review – Glam Radar

I do love a bit of a 2 in 1 deal. Today I thought while I was showing you my new concealer purchase – MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NW20 – I might as well do a quickie review on Becca The Ultimate Mascara that I bought at the Pixiwoo event a little while ago.

Firstly, MAC Studio Finish Concealer. Strangely, it’s not on the MAC Australia website, so I’ve pulled this information from the MAC UK site.

Essentially, Studio Finish Concealer is concentrated, lightweight, creamy and opaque, providing a smooth long-wearing invisible coverage for skin blemishes. It’s water-resistant, fragrance-free and non-blemishgenic (who knew that was a real word…) and you only need a small amount. It effectively covers dark circles, blemishes, moles, tattoos and birthmarks. Enriched with antioxidants (derivatives of Vitamin A and Vitamin E), it also contains Silica to help adsorb the skin’s oils.

The box that my concealer came in says it’s SPF30+ but the MAC UK website clearly says SPF 35 – strange that the product differs from country to country. Essentially it’s a little creamy concealer in a small eyeshadow pot. I bought it because I use the Studio Finish foundation ranges (I mix NC20 and NW20) and I’d heard this concealer was quite good. I was also getting a bit over the Laura Mercier one I was using and wanted to try something different. I actually wanted to get NC20 but the MAC counter I went to was out so it wasn’t a huge stretch for me to get NW20. Just FYI.

MAC Concealer: There is no bad with this concealer. It does what I want it to do. It’s light, it doesn’t cake, but it still covers what I need it to cover.

Next – The Ultimate Mascara by Becca. I’d covered it in my Becca Haulpost a little while ago but I’ve had a good amount of time now to test it out and review it. Here’s a little bit about the product and what it claims to do:

The Ultimate Mascara is a water resistant, micro-tubing formula containing anti-oxidants, vitamins, and minerals to strengthen lashes and reduce lash loss. It won’t run, smudge, flake, clump, melt or drip. Its high transparency pigments create shinier, more natural-looking lashes.

Overall, I think MAC Studio Finish Concealer is an excellent pick. Definitely worth the money and you only need a small amount so it will last you a long time. I tend to apply it with a thin fluffy brush – theIllamasqua Blending Brush #1 is perfect.

Becca The Ultimate Mascara is also a good choice but it’s not the best mascara I’ve ever tried. Maybe the second best, but not the best. The clumps annoy me but I do love how glossy my lashes look, while curling them with zero crunch. I have worn it every day since I bought it so it’s a good everyday mascara.

What’s it going to cost?

MAC Studio Finish Concealer is £13.50 in the UK, $16.50 in the USA and I can’t remember how much I paid in Australia because it’s not listed on their website. The other similar conealer (Studio Sculpt) is $36 so I would imagine it’s around the same price.

Becca The Ultimate Mascara is £18 in the UK, $24 in the USA and $45 in Australia.

Full Disclosure: I paid for both these products myself.
