MAC mineralize skinfinish review | Glam Radar

If the name of my blog doesn’t give it away- I love blush. And highlighters. Anything for the cheeks really!

One of my favorite cheeky things is by MAC- mineralize skinfinishes (MSF). They’re the only cosmetic item I actively ‘collect’. I have them all, so I just keep buying them whenever they’re released. Luckily I love them!

MAC says- A luxurious velvet-soft powder with high-frost metallic finish. Smoothes on: adds buffed-up highlights to cheeks and brows, or an overall ultra-deluxe polish to the face.

I say- These little baked domes of goodness can be used as a blush, bronzer, highlight, layered over blush, all over the face (if you’re brave!) or eye shadow. The lovely Gemma at Embellished Makeup has a great tutorial on how MSFs can be used to play up the lips. I love anything multi-purpose.

MSFs are a cult item from MAC I suppose. There is always hype around new ones being released, and MSFs from older collections usually sell for a ridiculous amount of moolah on ebay. Most MSFs are limited edition- meaning get them when they’re released or else!

My favorite is Stereo Rose. I’m a sucker for corals and this is the ultimate coral blush for me.sony-dsc

I used to be obsessed with shimpagne, but it needs to be buffed out really well to avoid looking like you’re half human, half robot with metal cheeks! This could be said for a lot of the MSFs really!

I think MAC has really lifted their game with the last few MSFs. I was feeling a little disillusioned with them a while ago when I’m sure I wasn’t the only one wondering how many reincarnations of global glow/warmed/shooting star could possibly exist. Then the Brunette Blonde Redhead collection brought a new sort of super smooth MSF, followed by refined and perfect topping from the Sugarweet collection.
