MAC Makes Me Blush

So a friend recently asked me to accompany her on a trip to MAC to help pick out a few MAC eyeshadows and brushes. I told myself in advance that I had more than enough makeup, but seeing all the beautiful products neatly displayed weakened my resolve.

In my defence, I didn’t go crazy and what I did buy were things that I had been umming andahhing over for quite some time.
MAC Gingerly Blush

Gingerly blush is a favourite of one of my favourite makeup artists, Mickey Contractor. Mickey is the MAC Director of makeup artistry in India. Some of you may be familiar with his collection for MAC that came out in January 2011. Mickey works with an array of Indian starlets and models, making them the envy of every South Asian woman, including moi!
Gingerly is a mixture of pink-peach but on my NC44 skin tone it comes off as a bronzy colour. It has a sheertone finish and looks very natural whilst giving me a healthy glow. It would work really well as an every day blush as well as on a smokey eye look.
MAC Plum Foolery Blush
I thought that Plum Foolery would be great for A/W. As the name suggests, it’s a plum colour but with hints of pink. I think MAC’s description of this blush as “faintly plum” is spot on. It has a Sheertone Shimmer finish, therefore there is subtle shimmer. Another great everyday blush.
 MAC Devil Blush
I bought this on a separate occasion as it’s only available at PRO stores. Don’t be put off by the name, this blush is just wow! It is a very bright red shade, definitely a colour you need to apply with a soft brush and a light stroke to avoid putting on too much. Devil has a satin finish.
I think MAC PRO blushes only come in pan form (that was what I was sent, but check with your local PRO store).

I personally prefer to buy MAC blushes in the pot form as it makes it easier to travel with for touch-ups. Anyhow, I bought a MAC PRO Blush palette to store my new blush in. It kinda looks lonely on its own, guess I’m gonna have to buy a few more pro blushes to keep it company lol.

also picked up a travel size Fix+ to keep in my handbag for on the go sprays. I love this spray and usually apply it as a finishing step to my makeup application, as its gives me a nice glow and prevents that over powdered cakey look. It also works well at applying pigments – so a multi-tasker!
